i'm still deeply self conscious of the quality of my cantonese (bad bc lack of vocab and odd pronunciation and also weird use of grammar…my dad told me i speak canto w english grammar and it sounds weird) especially since i grew up in hk so it's not like i grew up overseas and wasn't immersed etc. but also english fluency is a sign of socioeconomic privilege (in hk) so i should b grateful for that at least

2 am just got home from picking up my dad from the train station (20 min drive) after his trip up to the mainland that my mum is mad about and she's also probably annoyed that i went to pick him up bc she thinks he should taxi home since it's his own fault he was out so late having dinner w his friends

it's strangely relieving that even in my remote village there r ppl playing pokemon go at midnight (as evidenced by my pokemon getting kicked out from the gym at that time)

had malaysian curry laksa today for the first time and it was sooo good

and it only cost 12.99!!! also it's v interesting to me that it was like. top 1/4 was vermicelli and the rest were alkaline egg noodles

#never had mixed noodles before in a noodle dish #wikpedia says a mix is normal which is interesting i thought perhaps the kitchen had run out of egg noodles and only had vermicelli lol #it was to my relief btw bc i vastly prefer egg noodles to vermicelli (they r too thin n no chewy)#soup was soo good. idk what ingredient it was but i think a particular herb? was so fragrant n nice #food
