"I think it will be out this year." Here comes the click bait.
While Jaime seems to genuinely regret not being able to save Elia & her children ("I never thought he would hurt them!"), why is it that he never seems to feel any real regret to pushing Bran off the tower? He barely even thinks about it in his monologues.
Because direct personal culpability is worse than accidental neglect.
I'm not ashamed of loving you, only of the things I've done to hide it. That boy at Winterfell . . ." -Jaime, expressing regret. Jaime IX, ASoS

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Catatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I adopted the new Catatar, a kittybender named Steve. And although his felinebending skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he’s ready to save anyone. But I believe Steve can save the world.

Did you see anywhere how Ser Duncan the Tall and Brienne of Tarth are related? Totally on-board with that, but just how since more interesting than the if. For Hodor's line, it was a bastard born to old Nan and Duncan, right? But how's Lord Selwyn (safe bet it's through her father) descended from Duncan in a way that's secret since if Brienne knew her direct-line ancestor was one of THE most famed knights in history, she mentioned in somebody or even in her thoughts in her POV chapters, no?
Yes I saw that, altho that revelation depends on how we parse the question and GRRM’s response, so I wouldn’t necessarily bet the farm on that yet.
In terms of the Tarths of Evenfall Hall, if it is a secret, it’s got to be a semi-open secret because they have his shield hanging in their armory.
As the fan in question, I can assure you it was confirmation. He didn't bat an eye at my question, and answered me directly.
Someone needs to get on the Euron Valyrian Steel armor fan art thing asap. I need it.
That moment when Dunk kisses Jaime’s great-grandmother.
That moment when GRRM confirms Brienne is Dunk’s descendant at Balticon.
Hah. That moment when I get him to confirm it.
Met the man, got my book signed, confirmed a fan theory.

GRRM approves comment blasting HBO’s Jaime
Because, HBO’s version of Jaime Lannister is absolutely dreadful. That cowardly rapist, who’s character motivations make no sense deserves to die. Book Jaime though…well, book Jaime is the greatest character in the series, and his Feast for Crows level of leadership, and competence is what the Seven Kingdoms truly need. I’m assuming his needle work is improving, considering Chekov’s gun must fire. Even if he isn’t competent with his left, yet. Brienne will not let him die like Renly. [x]
Totally not surprised at this. NCW is doing the best he can with shitty scripts and a flawed misunderstanding of the part of the showrunners about the character, but show!Jaime is a pretty far cry from book!Jaime.
Hey Tumblr. My interest in Jaime Lannister does not extend to Jaime and Cersei shipping blogs. Get it together.
“I’m going to hijack the commentary track for just a minute to talk about this subplot…” says writer-producer Bryan Cogman on the upcoming DVD...
In which a writer from GoT utterly disappoints yet again.

Redemption
One of the things I wanted to explore with Jaime, and with so many of the characters, is the whole issue of redemption. When can we be redeemed? Is redemption even possible? I don’t have an answer. But when do we forgive people? You see it all around in our society, in constant debates…
…I don’t know the answer, but these are questions worth thinking about. I want there to be a possibility of redemption for us, because we all do terrible things. We should be able to be forgiven. Because if there is no possibility of redemption, what’s the answer then?
