Hans sighed, his thoughts drifting briefly to part of a conversation he shared with Anna yesterday. He could easily picture himself walking among them, holding an honest, dignifying position in a quiet corner of a kingdom, somewhere immune to the stresses and dangers of political alliances. Somewhere far from the influences of his elder brothers.

Imagine being able to actually do something meaningful with my life… He thought to himself, …or even having a life of my own to do with as I please. I could have a modest home in a small provincial town… or even on a farm… with a wife and children of my own. A simple life with its simple pleasures…. He averted his gaze down towards his lap as a couple walked by, and a sigh escaped his lips. At this stage, this insane adventure with Anna will end up being the final highlight of my life… and half of this isn’t even real.

i think one of the saddest things about hans that i just realized recently is that during the meeting scene, he moves into the boat to help her up (which is literally customary) but then he gives her this dreamy smile and he gets lost in her bEAUTIFUL FACE

and THEN after getting literally lost in anna’s eyes he’s like OH RIGHT, I’M PRINCE HANS OF THE SOUTHERN ISLES

and THEN she introduces herself as princess. he literally found her dreamy even before he knew who she was and that is what makes me want to cry the most about hans/anna now
