From artbook “Moment” by En (Galois)
I could never be grateful enough to En-sama for created this masterpiece. Months ago she did mention in a few of her replies on twitter that she received a message from a foreign fan with many thanks and praise for her artworks, that foreign fan also expressed a wish to have a YOI fan artbook draw by her. She then thought that was a good idea and went to work on it.
Though she said no details about that foreign fan, for some strange reason I knew it was me. Surely she got many silent follower but not all of them brave enough to wrote her a private message let alone request for a fanbook, in broken Japanese *lol*. I did, with help from my friend. And now I finally have this beautiful YOI artbook shining and sparkling in my hands. PERFECT!
So happy my wish has been granted.
Enさま、本当にありがとうございました。

15 more were added to my VicYuu doujinshi collection. Broke af now but still satisfied (´;ω;`)
Otayuri is officially the second largest ship in the Yuri!!! on Ice fandom.
We have the second largest number of fics on ao3 after Victuuri, and we have so much new art and content coming in every day.
We did this with 2 minutes and 48 seconds.
Imagine how we’ll be with NEXT LEVEL.
zero chills
please note this is ONLY the Western fandom.
Yuuri/Yuri still has a rather large presence in the Japanese fandom (though curiously, not Victor/Yuri), and this weekend’s doujinshi event will confirm whether or not Otaburi has actually surpassed it as the second-largest ship (well, VicYuu and YuuVic are technically separate ships in Japanese fandom, but I digress). For comparison: OtaYuri sits at 9 pages of pixiv submissions, and YuuYuri also has 9 pages. YuuYuri has been around longer, though, and had more time to build up a base, whereas this is Otaburi’s first doujinshi event and may well have siphoned many Yu(u)ri shippers who wanted someone to ship Yurio with and just defaulted to Yuuri.
@fencer-x
Just out of curiosity, how popular is Victuuri in comparison? Also, would you know why do Japanese fans even distinguish between VicYuu and YuuVic, and which is more popular?
Victuri blows everything else out of the water lol it’s not even a fair fight. I’m not 100% on the popularity of VicYuu vs. YuuVic (VicYuu had a narrow edge in October, but I didn’t keep up with the rankings). They’re distinguished because Japanese fans are heavily influenced by BL stereotypes and those often bleed into the characters based on who tops and who bottoms; some prefer one characterization to others.
For example, in the YuuVic, you’ll see a Yuuri who’s perhaps a bit more confident than he is in canon (especially the early doujinshi that came out in October and November) and a Victor who’s less teasing, more overwhelmed by Yuuri’s passion/easily shocked. With VicYuu, you get mercilessly teasing Victor who delights in making his ~little katsudon~ blush and get flustered, and a perpetually blushing Yuuri who lacks confidence and must be coaxed into any sexual situations.
These are extremes, but overall that’s the difference you’re going to see. You’ll see it in any fandom–and these differences in characterization based solely on who tops and who bottoms is what makes me usually buy doujinshi for ONE pairing and not the other even if it’s a ship I see as switching (like HaruRin vs. RinHaru in Free! fandom, though the same issues with characterization based on who tops/bottoms plague the western fandom there too…).
I haven’t read enough doujinshi for YOI yet to conclude if the VicYuu or YuuVic fans have a better grasp on the characters, but I’m starting to think the YuuVic shippers will annoy me less if nothing else lol. We’ll see how things pan out after Sunday when I go through my doujinshi haul following Ginban no Glory 1.
So them Western fans really have no idea why Japanese fans distinguish between VicYuu and YuuVic? Hmm, they should know that not only in JP but fans in other Asian countries (like CN, KR and VN…) do the same, separate ships, make it clear between top and bottom role and as a result we have separate tags for separate pairings. About CP tags, there’s one important rule exists on popular sites/SNS such as Pixiv and Twitter (JP), Baidu and Weibo (CN) which is characters has their name written first in a CP tag will be seme/top and the other one will be uke/bottom. For example, Japanese fandom: ヴィク勇 (VicYuu) ; 勇ヴィク (YuuVic) Chinese fandom: 维勇 = VicYuu ; 勇维 = YuuVic
Since I rarely visit any Korean site, I’m not sure how KR fans wrote CP tags in their own language but it supposed to be like this: 빅토르유리 = VicYuu ; 유리빅토르 = YuuVic Vietnamese fandom use both Victuuri and VicYuu tags for Victor x Yuuri CP while YuuVic means Yuuri x Victor CP. In case you’re curious about why we see Victuuri as VicYuu here, because obviously we follow the rule - the seme’s name goes first. By the way, last time I checked VicYuu still dominates and based on the number of fanarts under VicYuu tag on Pixiv, I don’t think the rankings will change even when doujinshika start to lose their interest in YOI.
Finally someone from Korean fandom corrects me about CP tags, 빅토카츠 = VicYuu Thanks a lot! ; A ; * Speaking of which, the way Western fandom use CP tags triggered me all the time. I can’t even looking for Top!Victor x Bot!Yuuri fanfic on Fanfiction.net without bumping into a bunch of reverse CP fanfics which they put under the tag Victor x Yuuri. Do they even know that [Character A.] means name of the seme and [Character B.] means the uke? That setting was there for a long long time until fangirls of today’s generation messed it all up. Fanfiction.net was no longer the old ff.net I once knew. Not to mention AO3′s shitty tagging system, you’ll never know which CP (VicYuu or YuuVic?) were written about unless you click the link and read it so I just gave up. Same thing happens with fanart and doujinshi, I’ve seen many people using the wrong tags when they re-uploaded/re-posted artworks from Japanese/Chinese artists. Guys, have you ever checked what CP the artist was into before you re-up their artworks? If they’re on VicYuu side then the right tag would be Victor x Yuuri, not Yuuri x Victor; if they’re on YuuVic side, okay go with Yuuri x Victor tag. Hmm, guess I could tell you guys some facts about Japanese&Chinese fandoms. Fact 1: Them artists will be very very unpleased if anyone use the wrong CP tags to tag their artworks. Fact 2: They usually main only 1 CP for each series, other CPs are just “extra ship”. Fact 3: They usually choose a certain side to be on when participate in fandom events. In YOI fandom it’s either VicYuu or YuuVic, artists who registered as “reverse” circle and draw actual “reverse” doujinshi are pretty rare. The tag “Victuuri” is almost unknown of and meaningless to Japanese fandom (maybe more popular among Chinese and Korean fandoms). As I said before, they have their own tags to distinguish between Victor x Yuuri and Yuuri x Victor. VicYuuVic and YuuVicYuu are 2 “reverse” tags in Japanese fandom, and as far as I know, Chinese fandom don’t have any reverse tags, they simply use both VicYuu and YuuVic to tag reverse works. * I once burst out laughing when I saw someone here on Tumblr distributing YOI doujinshi into “VicYuu” “YuuVic” and “Victuuri” based on rating. They were like, R-18 ones = VicYuu/YuuVic and PG ones = Victuuri. Where did they learn this from? Seriously.
Just pre-ordered 3 copies of En-sama’s artbook from Toranoana. It’s an amazing, colorful, of course most beautiful and most wonderful YOI artbook I’ve ever seen. * As you can see it has no CP tag, just Victor & Yuuri & Makkachin but, bear in mind, she’s a VicYuu shipper. I wish I could fly to Japan to attend this june event <氷奏ストラースチ Banquet>, to get in a long, crowded line towards her booth, waiting for my turn to buy her book and most of all, to meet her in person. She rarely attended fandom events, lastest was Comic Market 85 4 years ago so this Banquet would be a golden opportunity for those who are her fan and currently living in Japan.
I’m a fan but sadly, I’m not living in Japan. Besides ticket prices to JP are hella expensive, can’t afford it :( At least my two friends have a chance since they're studying abroad. I hope they will be able to meet En-sama and send her my words, and ask her if we could have her signatures on the book. *Pray to all gods and goddesses* I can’t go to the event but please let me have her signature, please...

It’s neither gogerous artstyle nor porn that makes a wonderful doujinshi. It’s all about the stories them circle/doujinka did their best to tell you. “Roam Island” in my opinion, deserves to be praised as one of the best YOI doujinshi so far for it’s unique, creative and meaningful story though Baroqueline-san (Kikuya Tosho) - the author ain’t a well-known circle among Japanese fandom. May the story itself wasn’t too deep to sink you into the feeling, but it does touched my heart in an unexpected way, made me go from wow to cry silently after finished reading it for the first time, then the second time, the third time... not so many doujin that I’ve read could do the same you know. I truly think that we need more good plotted doujin like this than PWP ones all over MRM. Ermm, don’t get me wrong, I still buy and read some to satisfy my perverted fujoshi soul. Just prefer plot>porn :3 My personal rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ½
If you’re looking for full spoiler then I’m sorry, I won’t spoil anything futher than just 2 pages. But you could take a look at 8 pages of sample, including book cover on Pixiv for more. It would be great if you could purchase the book, discovering and supporting this artist also. The book is currently out of stock on Toranoana but there’s may be a chance they will restock it in the future.
