Whatever was left, the war polluted. Those staying behind withered away in cramped factories or dreary queues for rationed goods. The earth stank of grime and despair. The air was thick with smoke and a palpable fear of loss. Loss of families, of intimates, of hopes, of dreams.

Kuroo was on the verge of choking on that tainted air when Yaku crashed into his life with the force of an asteroid captured by a planet’ gravity.

After 10 years, Kuroos waits for Yaku at the edge of the universe.

This was written for KuroYaku weekend 2018. I liked the theme a bit too much.

Kuroo likes coffee and Yaku likes tea. Kuroo needs noise and Yaku needs quiet. Kuroo is analogue and Yaku thinks that’s bullshit. Kuroo is a mess and Yaku owns his own iron. Kuroo is a middle blocker and Yaku is the libero. Kuroo is tall and Yaku is still infuriatingly average (short). Kuroo likes the beach and Yaku likes the mountains. Kuroo looks bigger than he is and Yaku looks smaller than he is. Kuroo likes long hair and Yaku has likes short hair. Kuroo is in biochem and Yaku is in history. Kuroo’s clothes are always baggy and Yaku has a tailor.

They both like the same coffee shop.

Yaku is in love and Kuroo is oblivious.

University AU where they’ve never met before until they have to play on the same team and then they start seeing each other everywhere (or at least Yaku sees Kuroo everywhere)

It was the third time in two weeks that Kuroo had visited the cat cafe near Kenma’s apartment. He made himself comfortable at the corner table, and exchanged an inscrutable look with the large tabby cat occupying the seat opposite him. Kenma had refused to come with him this time, muttering something that sounded like pathetic, before closing the door in his face.

Kuroo glanced at his phone, then tucked it back in his pocket and glanced over his shoulder. His shoulders tensed when he recognised the barista who’d served him last time. He was short, with strawberry blond hair and a lot of freckles. Noticing Kuroo watching him, he picked up a notepad and walked over. Kuroo’s heart jumped into his throat; the cute barista accounted for ninety per cent of his purpose in visiting the cat cafe, at least since the first time when Kenma had dragged him along. On their first visit, the barista had insulted Kuroo’s hair and ignored his attempts at humour, to Kenma’s endless amusement. Kuroo’s second visit hadn’t gone much better, as Kuroo had tripped over one of the cats and incited the barista’s wrath.

Needles to say, he was a little nervous as the man approached his table. He tried to look normal, and not like someone who regularly trampled cats.

Hey, I know this has been asked before so I'm really sorry but I still feel a little lost concerning the theme xD Like do you mean THE Universe or AUs? Or both??

Either/or! You can write about aliens, astronauts, or maybe even a Star Wars crossover...or you could write Final Haikyuu Quest, or a sports swap AU, or even just a good old coffee shop AU. It doesn’t even have to be an AU at all, you could you ‘universe’ as an inspiration to write something set in canon. 

The theme is really just a guide - we just want everyone to take part and have fun making some kuroyaku content!

I always see these artist/model fics and I wanted to give a few ideas about other situations where one of them creates art.

Museum AU: I came in here to draw in peace and quiet and here you are leading this group of tourist around and your voice is amazing and I can’t concentrate. Sketchbook AU: I lost my sketchbook. you found it and posted a picture of it on instagram to find the owner and that totally freaks me out because you shouldn’t have looked inside!! But it blew up, made me famous, I got several job offers and I got my sketchbook back and you are actually really cute.

Gallery AU: You are staring at my worst work in awe and I don’t understand what you see in it.

Museum 2: I found you crying in front of a modern painting in a room full of people and I thought something is wrong but you just found it too beautiful.

Art-store: You saw me stare longingly at that paint in the art supply store and I must have looked heartbroken because you bought it for me and I promised to paint you a picture in exchange but I have no idea what I should create because I know nothing about you.

Accident recovery: I’m a famous painter but I hurt my wrist and I cant even pull a straight line and you’re my physiotherapist who never even heard of me but keeps cheering me on in these hard times.

Fan AU: You’re in love with my colors and I am scared to tell you I’m completely colorblind.

Pet fan AU: You thought I wanted to draw you but I actually just want to draw your dog! He is so cute! Have you seen him!? SO CUTE!

Coffee and friends AU: I accidentally dipped the brush in your coffee ad I’m hoping you won’t realize… I think I poisoned you. 

Car AU: I did a 24 hour paint job on the wrong car… Dude, I hope you like dinosaurs.

Graffiti AU: You inspire my graffiti art but after you spoke lowly about graffiti, all I wanted to do, was to impress you… until I finally did. 

Graffiti AU2: We both paint onto the walls of this grey city and I think I have fallen in love with you.

School: We mixed up our folders at the end of the day and yours is full of nsfw stuff. They’re really good.
