On this trip to Paris, I decided to make a few photos where I added some motion blur (others will follow). There's a sort of timelessness in the ebb and flow of the crowds that parade down streets and in front of century's old buildings. It brought to mind the Talking Heads lyric 'Same as it ever was, same as it ever was.'

The majestic bison once roamed North America in the tens of millions. Considered sacred to many Native cultures, they were a symbol of strength, resilience, and were a major driver of the ecosystem of the plains. Nearly wiped out by overhunting and westward expansion, bison have made a tentative comeback thanks to conservation efforts of passionate people who refused to let them disappear.
Today, each small herd stands as living history—hoofed reminders of the American frontier and the deep roots they hold in our nation's story. Every snort, kick, and dust bath they take connects us to a time before fences, highways, and the hum of daily modern life.
