INTRODUCTION

As per your vote, Kuruk Weekend will happen between JANUARY 10th and JANUARY 12th, 2025!

When sharing your work, please tag with #kurukwknd25 and mention @kuruk-weekend. The ao3 collection is called Kuruk_Weekend_2025. Adding your work to the collection is optional.

What works will be accepted? Everything, as long as it adheres to the rules. This means one-shots, multi-chapters, art, moodboards, head-canons, meta-analyses or anything else you want to create.

RULES

1. Be kind! Only provide constructive criticism when asked and don’t hate on other people’s work. This means ship and let ship, don’t like don’t read, no kink-shaming, etc;

2. Your work must be your own! No AI and no plagiarism!;

3. Sexual content must happen between adults. Submissions containing ped*philia will not be shared. Works that discuss the theme will be accepted as long as appropriately tagged.

4. Submissions containing racist, ableist, sexist, queerphobic or any other hate content will not be shared. Works that explore hate as a theme will be accepted as long as appropriately tagged.

5. Tag your work! And use Tumblr’s community labels if needed.

A Avatar the Last Airbender fanfiction for @kuruk-weekend event Kuruk weekend alt legacy.

After his death, Kuruk have left a troubled legacy as the Avatar of appearing to not help out much for the world while the spirits knew him as the Avatar that try to fix the bonds between them and mortals and suffered for it by Koh and his early death when he was so young. His successors were left to deal with the problems that he didn't have time to clean up in their life time up until Avatar Korra open the gateways to the Spirit World for peace between the two.

Summary: When Kuruk and Hei-Ran’s afterhours “indulgences” take a serious turn, a choice heavy as the world’s fate is to be made.

Hei-Ran didn’t sleep. Or maybe even couldn’t sleep. The moon was high in the starless night and there she laid in her guest bed in the Oikawa Inn wide awake. Minimal fault laid in the comfortable mattress and slightly itchy comforter, she was one to make do with her circumstances. Restlessness at this time was a bit out of place and character for a fire bender, but over the months in travel, she had learned to adjust to an odd sleep schedule.

When she picked up a heaviness looming outside her room and a gentle metallic rattle before a satisfying click of the door knob open, Hei-Ran didn’t flinch. She knew. Instead, she rolled over in her bed, expectantly watching the light radiating from outside her room steadily widen before being eclipsed by a dense silhouette.

A Avatar the Last Airbender fanfiction for @kuruk-weekend event Kuruk Weekend day 2 Dreams and Nightmares and set in the Kuruk lives AU.

Kuruk find himself in a dark hallway with mist right up his feet and he cannot help but feel something wrong as he run down the hallway and he see his beloved wife with her back turn to him and Kuruk cry out, "Ummi!" and she turn, only to show that her face is a blank and he scream in horror.

Kuruk wake up with sweats on his body before he is remind that he is in his home while a baby cry and Ummi, still have her face, said to the baby, "There, there. It is okay, little one." Kuruk don't understand why he keep having the same terrible nightmare of Ummi not having her face while his wife comfort him, "Kuruk, we are alright. We are here for you. I'm here for you." and Kuruk said to her, "Thank you, Ummi. You by my side have made me a better man. I would be lost without you." and Ummi said, "Don't joke on something like that. We have to rest." before the couple goes back to sleep.

Ok then so heres my contribution for the @kuruk-weekend

(Unfinish painting bc again i thoght i had 2 more days lol)

Kuruk's fire-nation lovers end their very different lost of the same person (Kuruk)

• Burning letters

it dosent metter what the letter was, a love or a goodbye one, a poem or the hope call for a last chance, in the end its a burning letter and nothing more, from and for Hei-Ran and no one else

•And the only one left to keep the secret(s) in all the love letters

like to think that Nyahitha, partially to preserve the secret of what Kuruk and the dark spirits, secretly keep for all those years of letters, drawings, memories etc that he made with Kuruk

(I know he literally says to "let go of the past to Kyoshi in the book, but i dont think its that absurd of a headcannon, he keeped the hat, after all)

The Airbender Liho and her boyfriend and lover Okazo arrived to the Waterbender settlements where they ask a man, "Do you know where we can find the Avatar?" and the man point to a old man whose take a sigh and the old man, Avatar Kuruk, said, "I can see that people wouldn't let a old man rest in peace." and he ask his wife, "Ummi, can you make something for our guests to drink?" and she head to their hut which the two women wonder if it is okay to take the Avatar from his family to help with a crisis in the Fire Nation.

The man from the Water Tribe arrived at the Earth Temple where a sage ask the man, "Who are you?" and the man reply, "My name is Kuruk, the Avatar." The sage was stunned, "The Avatar." before he did some thinking and then said, "I'm Jianzhu, the greatest Earthbender in this temple. Allow me to teach you the way of Earthbending, Avatar."

A few months later, Kuruk and Jianzhu arrived at a Fire Nation temple where the sages said to them, "With due respect, Avatar, but I'm afriad none of us will be along to teach you in the ways of Firebending." Just then, a female voice call out, "Maybe I can." and a woman come before the men and she said, "My name is Hei Ran. Let me have the honor of teaching the Avatar."

A few years later, the two men and Hei-Ran arrived at a Airbender temple where they meet the monks and a tall monk with a long black beard come forward and said, "My name is Kelsang, Avatar. I will be happy to have to honor to teach you in the ways of airbending."
