ياربّ علمني المعاملة التي تُرضيك في المواقف التي يقعُ عليَّ أذى فيها ، وأعطني القوة لأن أقفَ ثابتة ولو كانت مشاعري مُتقدة ، وعلمني كيف أقول الحقيقة دون أن أجرح المحبة التي بيني وبين الناس .

ياربّ علمني كَف الأذى عن الناس ، وكيف أُحبّ أحبتي وأعطيهم دون أن تستنزف طاقتي ، وعلمني الموازنة بين ما أحب وما أكره ، وبين الطريق التي مشيت والطريق التي كُنت أتمنى لو أمشي ، والدعوة التي رددتها مراتٍ عديدة ولم تأذن لي بها ، وبين الذي رزقتني ولم أطلبه .

ياربّ المحبة زادي ، فلا تحرمني الحُب في هذه الحياة ، ولا تكتب عليّ الشقاء والجفاء فإني ياربّ أطمعُ في أن أكون من السعداء.*

Many feel we are missing words—that is, we have enough words, the house is overflowing with them, but they are imprecise. There are too many things for which we lack terminology, and it is difficult to come to an agreement. Here are just a few of the ways that the group tries to find the right language for their relationship to time: time as a loop, entanglement, shared history, time starting back up, molded by time, time etching itself into the world, time as beads, time as a washing line, time as a tunnel. The characters even argue about what to name the “time before” and even what to call themselves—are they “time-prisoners”?
