my friends and i were talking about how even though published books seem more diverse these days, the vast majority of diverse books (as in books by diverse authors or featuring diverse characters; diversity in any sense like race, ethnicity, sexuality, etc) don’t “make it.” we wanted to compile some reading lists of books by diverse authors that have sort of been overlooked via this tumblr page so hopefully more ppl read them, but we need ur help :)

if there’s a diverse book that’s not really well known that u like, pls send an ask! and we’ll try to make reading/recommendation lists from them on this page. if u want to help us organize the books into themed lists, also send an ask :D

james was so quintessentially a hero that this didn’t bother me. He was the handsomest of us (meredith once compared him to a disney prince), but more charming than that was his childlike depth of feeling, onstage and off-. for three years i enjoyed the overflow of his popularity and admired him intensely, without jealousy, even though he was frederick’s obvious favorite in much the same way that richard was gwendolyn’s. of course, james did not have richard’s ego or temper and was liked by everyone, while richard was hated and loved with equal ferocity.
