He was towering above her ; jaw locked tight & a heart pounding rapidly against his chest. He’d lost his wife in the very hospital they now stood, and his daughter was not about to be a repetition of the past. But with her words, it felt as if a weight had been lifted from his chest–– a relief that was sure to have been visible on rugged features. ‘ I need to see her. ’ He finally spoke, although an attempt to move past the younger wasn’t yet made. ‘ Where is she ? ’

lorelai had never seen this side of him ; the concerned father whose despair was as clear as a sunny day. the closest link she had to a situation of this caliber was her nephew, who she had vowed to protect in her sister’s absence. however, the father/daughter connection was in level the brunette was unsure she would ever come to fathom. ❛ ed, i know you want to see her & you will, but you have to listen to me, ❜ her voice was calm ; reassuring. knowing how to function under pressure was one of her specialties. ❛ if you just go in there you’re going to get INFECTED as well. what good would that do? piper’s in there & she’s not going ANYWHERE----- but you gotta get it together ; for HER & those who LOOK UP to you. ❜

With the panic having taken ahold of PORTLAND ; Ed had been given little to no time to worry about himself – nor the ones closest to him. Instead, he was forced into arguments on how to tackle the issue, how to keep the remaining residents from harm. And it wasn’t until hours into the CHAOS ; that information regarding his daughter’s whereabout surfaced. Information that withdrew him from the role of a LEADER, and instead – for the first time in near a decade – one of a CONCERNED FATHER. Soldiers parted for him as he made his way through the crowded halls of the quarantine zone, & it wasn’t until a familiar face appeared before him that he PAUSED. ‘ Where is she ? ’

not losing the ounce of patience she had left made her deserving of ten trophies & fifty medals---- at the very least. as the head of medical, and as expected, portland’s citizens were urging for a cure that was barely in the works, as if by snapping her fingers or by chanting magical words, it’d show up before their eyes. but as her limited & selected team worked behind the scenes, she had to ensure those whose health remained untouched by the virus were doing their jobs. as quick, scrutinizing eyes supervised her staff, lorelai’s bright hues easily detected someone that’d stand out anywhere. rushing the general’s way as he strode forward, preventing him from getting any closer. ❛ piper’s going to be okay, ed. we’re doing EVERYTHING we can to soothe her and everyone’s symptoms until the solution’s a go. she’s going to be FINE. ❜
