“who? you must have me mistaken for someone else because no one here’s got me whipped for the dick. none of them have YET to impress me.”
narihq:
she imagines being somewhere in-between free of crippling pressure of needing having to do well in everything. she was brought up to make no mistakes and move on without any hesitation. though, it’s something she always failed in. something she couldn’t get right. it’s one of those time where she could’ve used moral support. tension in the air was palpable from where she was standing. she’s was practically vibrating from the force of it. from here, the contents that were veining into the cracks of the sidewalk just mocked her, fading out of view. the streetlights cast an ugly yellow glow across from behind her, casting her face in the shadows. for a moment, nari was on the verge of tears. not for the fact of her lost milk, but for the fact that she couldn’t seem to get near anything right as of late. she’s not sure why the sudden rush of exhaustion feels overwhelming, but it takes her by complete surprise. the silence was broken by her muffled sigh. recognizing the others voice, she immediately was taken back by the harsh tone of the others words. “you’re right. i should’ve looked where i was going.” she finally let out, willing to take full blame for the incident. she probably sounded hopeless but at this point, she was. “i’m really sorry. is there any way i can make it up to you ?” she was mentally preparing herself for any more words that were going to come out of the others mouth as she was already mentally cussing herself out.
✧ ✳ ○ ☾ ━ RECOGNITION HITS AS SHE LAID EYES ON THE OTHER GIRL. letting a sigh fall between parted lips, she places a hand softly on the other’s shoulder. “hey, hey, it’s fine.” she starts, having to hold back the subconscious need she has to lash out at others. although she’s oftentimes inconsiderate, she knew that nari had a lot going on in her life and she wasn’t heartless enough to disregard it. she wouldn’t want to ADD on to the burden by being another reason for her to be upset. “it’s my fault too. i wasn’t paying attention. had a rough day. how about i go buy you another carton of milk, okay? i’ll walk you to wherever you’re going too. it’s not SAFE to be in this part of town this late alone.” she meant it. being a boxer and a trained professional fighter, karma never felt in danger. in any situation, she would be able to get herself out, with or without fighting back. that being said, that makes her forget that others, especially NICE girls like nari, couldn’t say the same. “i’m kind of hungry anyways so i’ll buy food while we’re there. come on.” she begins walking in the direction of the convenience store once more, not looking back to see if the other was following ( because she knew that she was. )

Connor likes women in general. All kinds of women to be exact. But the problem was that he gets bored easily. Sometimes, he likes fancy women and then he wants those shy girls who blush when he speaks in a different tongue. At the end of the day, he’s pleased to have them underneath him. A mess that he had made completely by working all night in earning their trust. But that’s not enough for him to commit himself into a relationship. There has to be something special about it. Maybe, like a bet. Like Karma. He and his friends had a bet that he can’t charm the shy wallflower. She was worth quite a lot, a few thousands. He remembers taking a shot of liquor to set him up to victory and he won her heart with those sweet words and that smile. He cared for the most part but he didn’t care enough to let her go easily. “Does it matter whether or not, I like it?” He asks, dodging the question. Reverse psychology or what so ever they call that. Connor didn’t want to be the person responsible in any way when it comes to dealing with feelings or Karma’s sudden change in general. “What matters is that you like it. So, do you like this look of yours?” Connor softly asks, keeping close, with an arm out to keep anyone from getting too close to her. Like a real gentleman.
“You’ve always been pretty. Even without all that.” A reply that deserves nothing but a smile. He meant it though. Karma has always been pretty. Not pretty enough for him to keep his eyes on her though. Sadly. It’s true, what they say, it’s not always about the looks. “I just don’t want to see you get hurt.” Ironic. He had watched her heart break as soon as he chose to say it was the end for them. A goodbye for all those times she tried to make him feel alive. All those times, he acted like he was the best damn guy he can ever find.
“I’ve been busy with work. You know me, I’m obsessed with keeping this place running for those people who need an escape. Did you forget how I even asked for your opinion on how to make this place better?” He tried to make her feel like she was involved with those things he was in to. But it was more of him being a businessman that needed a new perspective. She needed her opinion to attract people who don’t really go out much to feel comfortable in Neverland and would most definitely come back. He shakes his head, looking at his beer and then avoiding her gaze for as long as he could. He wanted to look guilty, sad and hurt. He should have followed his friends’ advice to enter the film industry. He’d be a good actor. “How can I be disappointed? I’m pleased, honestly. I’m just not used to seeing you like how you are now. I.. I guess I miss the sweet Karma that used to smile at me.” Connor looks at her. “You’re not the same Karma I liked.”
✧ ✳ ○ ☾ ━ LOOKING BACK NOW, KARMA FELT LIKE A FOOL. she should have known that he wouldn’t have fallen for a shy, bland girl, the complete definition of who she was in the past. she couldn’t believe that she had spent so long being like that. deep down, karma had always felt like she was holding herself back, trying to make herself someone she wasn’t. with the outlet of boxing and her newfound sadness over her first breakup, she was able to FIND herself. nights spent drinking and dancing was much more fitting for her as opposed to nights spent pretending to like books and drinking s h i t t y coffee. “i do.” she replies, eyeing his arm suspiciously. “i think it’s much more ME. what i used to wear and how i used to look just didn’t suit me. i’m honestly happy that you dumped me. thank you for that. you made me realize how much i was lying to myself.”
unable to contain herself, laughter began to spill from her lips. “without all what? you think i don’t KNOW that i’m pretty? i don’t need this. this is for ME. i really hope you don’t think i’m trying to impress you or anything because honestly, you’re the one who fucked up anyways.” her words sit on the borderline between HARSH and m o c k i n g, but she doesn’t care. it’s been a while since she thought about the consequences of her actions. she’s selfish, that’s no lie, but she owns up to it. “yeah, no offence, but that sounds like B U L L S H I T. don’t try and act like a saint, connor. i’ve been hurt plenty of times with and without you.”
her heels click loudly against the tiles as they continue to walk, and she pays no mind. “don’t you think you’re more obsessed with making it your OWN escape rather than your customers?” she asks, aiming to hit a sensitive topic. back when they were together, she would avoid anything that would reopen a wound, but now she’s ruthless. a cataclysm. she didn’t care if anyone got hurt in the process of her own fucking enjoyment. “ i don’t think you even cared about what i said about this place. actually, i don’t even think you cared about what i said about anything. i just thought you did. i was such a d u m b a s s.” she shakes her head slightly in disbelief, her dark locks cascading around her face perfectly when she’s finished. “smile at you? i think we’re a bit PAST that. you really think that you have the right to miss how i used to be?” she scoffs, almost sneering at him now as she turns around to face him. “spare me the SHIT, babe. does it look like i give a FUCK if i’m not? i’m not here to kiss and make up, connor. i came here to get shitfaced drunk and go home with ANY guy who looks like he could give me a good time. don’t pretend like you don’t know all about it. it’s exactly what you do, so don’t act like you’re s o r r y for what you did to me, or that i was better before. i know i’m better now and it’s because i’m without you. please don’t feel bad for breaking my heart, because you just gave me a wake up call. now, tell me. why did you even date me in the first place? did you think it would be FUN? dating a l o s e r?”

It takes a lot to get something out of Connor. He’s like a robot. Some people say that he doesn’t have a heart and he’s just an emotionless bastard who knows nothing but to fool around. They are correct for the most part. Connor has a different girl in his arms almost every night but he’s not one to cheat on his girlfriend, he just gets tired and ends it because he’s already bored and it happens a lot. Just like with Karma. The soft wallflower he decided to pick and throw away when he got bored and tired of her. So, who is this woman before him? “Karma?” He frowns, trying to find his ex-girlfriend in her. But he can’t find her. This was a completely different woman. Not the one who heard the lines ‘It’s not you, it’s me’ from him. A lot had heard that from him before but Karma was the only one who didn’t splash water at him or cursed him before leaving then begging him after a while to take them back.
“Uhmm, hey.” Now he was at loss for words, watching her like he has never seen a girl like her in his life. “What’s with the outfit?” He asks, still staring at his ex-girlfriend that he barely recognizes under the whole new look. The makeup, the clothes, and the newfound confidence make him question what made her change. “Sure.” He lets her touch him, but he remains cautious. He knows people are watching him, her especially. He’s aware that this new Karma is gonna start some trouble in his club so it was better to keep her around him. “Be careful, okay. You might trip in those shoes.” He wasn’t sure where to look and where to place his hands so he acts like a gentleman. Hovering a hand behind her back as he leads her to the VIP lounge. “So, how have you been?”
✧ ✳ ○ ☾ ━ JUST SEEING HIM HAS MADE HER REMEMBER HER PAST. the girl that had tried to act brave, but was afraid of the world. the girl that was taken for granted, the girl that no one CARED about. it wasn’t entirely connor’s fault, but he contributed to the sinking feeling in her heart. the feeling that she was NEVER going to be someone’s first choice. she vowed to never feel that way again, so she changed. you couldn’t get your heart broken if you didn’t let anyone in. it didn’t take long for her to learn from her mistakes. she found out that men ( and women ) were easier to decipher than she thought, and that a few longing gazes and a p r e t t y smile was all it took to get them to BOW down before her feet. karma liked that feeling, she liked being in control, and she wanted to show him that. in fact, she almost felt an inclination to thank him. without his harsh words, she would have always been that WEAK, little girl.
“don’t you like it?” she asks, faux innocence having already been a look she mastered. with a bat of the eyelashes, she gives him a little twirl, hair cascading perfectly around her face after she was done. “it’s pretty, isn’t it?” the inevitable n o s t a l g i a hits when she feels his touch, albeit it was light. “i’ve had a LOT of practice. i’ll be okay.” she reassures him, flashing him her signature smirk. she walks across the room with confidence, not bothering to look at the owners of the gazes that were focused on her, her attention ONLY on the man that was behind her. “i’ve been doing well. so have you i’m assuming.” she gestures around the room, taking a sip of her beer shortly after. “you seem surprised to see me. it’s not too big of a city. we were going to run into each other sooner or later. what, are you d i s a p p o i n t e d in what you see?”

@kvrmaz ♡ for a starter
*˚ ♡ › in the course of only few weeks, her world had been turned upside down. yeeun had come to accept what kind of mess her life had become, watching everything go down quietly. almost detached. it was as if she lost any connection to reality, keeping a safe distance and watching herself dealing with whatever would come to her. it was easier that way and she thought nothing would surprise her anymore. but when she saw karma standing in front of her door, the light of her apartment illuminating not only her friend’s pretty features but also the dark purple bruises adorning her skin, she was pushed back to reality again. realizing that the world outside was still continuing and going on, having no regards for her feelings. “ where did all those bruises came from ?! ” she gasped, with several scenarios of what might’ve happened already crossing her mind. “ come in and let me take a look at it.”
✧ ✳ ○ ☾ ━ SHE ALWAYS WENT TO HER BEST FRIEND AFTER FIGHTS. there was nowhere better to go after all, no one else that understood her as well as yeeun did. that being said, karma always felt a bit of guilt showing up at her house unannounced all battered and bruised. it’s a double edged sword, she didn’t like making her friend worry but at the same time, there was no one else that could DEAL with it like she could. “do you even have to ask?” she replied sheepishly, stepping into the familiar apartment, already making her way towards the couch that had never looked more inviting. “i messed up again, yeeun. i would have WON if i paid more attention. i thought that they would right hook after the parry but -” she cut herself off, remembering that the other girl would have no idea what she was talking about. “forget it. do you have any food? i’m starving.”

Neverland was never empty. The crowd comes in when the night kicks in and Connor was always there to take care of his business, hang out with the regulars and drink till it was time to close the club. The VIP lounge has always been the highlight of the club. Neverland was inspired by a childhood tale mixed with a grown ups needs in their lives. An escape and a few years ago, he found an escape from his newfound life. It was a girl, so pure and innocent. A shy flower who fell for a dumbass like him. He liked her a little but it wasn’t enough for him to change anything about him, his lifestyle or anything that would make him a better and could have saved their relationship.
She was a great girl but his priority wasn’t becoming a better man for someone. He tried already before and it landed him on the hospital. He was talking to one of his employees when a girl catches his eye. “Boss?” His employee calls him but he was already determined to follow her. She looked familiar from afar but he wasn’t sure where he saw her before, so he grabs two bottles of beer from one of the waiters and laughs as he excuses himself to follow the little pretty thing that caught his eye.
“Hi, there. I thought I saw a fairy fluttering around so I tried to catch up with it. Turns out it’s just a lovely lady.” Connor says as he slides beside the woman, lifting the bottles of beer up. “Wanna hang out with me to the v.i.p lounge?”
✧ ✳ ○ ☾ ━ THERE WAS NO REST FOR THE WICKED. word on the streets was that everyone looking for a good time on a saturday night had found a NEW club to lounge in, and that meant that karma was no exception. the city’s nightlife had always appealed to her, and club crawling was a frequent activity for her and her girl friends. tonight though, she had decided to run solo. slipping on a RED skin tight dress and a pair of heels, this girl in the mirror was the complete opposite of the karma kim that first moved here.
nowadays, she refused to be boring. back then, she was tied down, desperate, willing and able to do the pleading of others because that was what she was used to. it wasn’t until she got DUMPED that she realized what she was becoming. she was becoming a background character, invisible, and she woke up one day thinking ‘FUCK THAT.’ the rose always has t h o r n s after all, so did she. she was beautiful, yes, but now she knew how to be deadly. she wasn’t going to let herself get HURT anymore.
‘he hasn’t noticed.’ she thought, a smirk pulling at the corners of cherry red lips as the male stood before her. there he was, the one man that ever made her CRY, made her feel not good enough. well, how the tables have turned. she was going to make him regret everything that he did to her. “hi. you sure know how to flatter a girl.” the words are like honey dripping off her tongue, sickeningly sweet but full of ILL intent. she accepts his offer, using her free hand to caress his face lightly. “that sounds like fun. why don’t you lead the way, babe?”
