Acne #11- Realization
1. Less is more
I was so addicted to skincare that I used a lot of products on my skin (because I was hoping for a miracle product) causing it to be more irritated.
I came across a video or an article that says “there’s only certain amount of products that our skin can tolearate.”
That goes with makeup as well.
2. Question I ask myself: Am I layering it right?
Now, I give each product time to penetrate deep into my skin.
3. SPF and Moisturizer
I just recently found out that SPF comes first before moisturizer. Because moisturizer gives our skin a barrier so if I put my spf last then it will only stay on top of my skin barrier (moisturizer)
4. Cold water
Using cold water instead of warm or hot water. It could be different for everyone but for me cold water helped to bring the puss out of my pimple.
Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019)
Hi, have you tried asking for an OB Gyne's opiniom? Maybe your hormones are acting up? Also, try looking for products that are suitable for your skin type :)
Hello! It can be my hormones. I’ve never been to an OB Gyne before but I’ll keep that in mind and give it a try. I went to my family doctor before and she prescribed me some overpriced acne cream it worked for a while but only lasted for a year.
Thank you so much for this! 💖

Skin Update:
I just got home from work. On my way home, I realized how I always criticize my own imperfections and never compliment it for how far It has become.
My acne are my battle scars. I am becoming a much better person - continuing self love because of it.
Note to self: don’t be too harsh on yourself. stop and appreciate what you have.
There needs to be more skin positivity in the world! Remember that you’re still beautiful even with acne, scars, rosacea, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, freckles, wrinkles, etc. Your skin does not define you!
‼️‼️‼️
fav acne product/s??
to cure inflammed acne:
Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic Acid and Spot treatment
however, it’s not for everyone.
Tip: do your research. build your tolerance (start from a very low percentage esp for benzoyl) and do not use everything at once (been there done that. My skin got upset.)
for acne marks:
None :( please suggest one that works.
Acne #8 - 10things that are currently helping me with acne.
• Salicylic Acid the best!!
• less dairy products
• acne spot treatment
• trust and love the process you’re not the only one
• faith that there’s a cure (it was hard at first but fake it till you make it giiirl)
• water (as cliche as it sounds)
• clean makeup brushes
• SPF and moisturizer
• obsessed with sheet masks
• indian healing clay + apple cider vinegar
Remember:
it is different for everyone.
Do not fix it if it’s not broken.

Acne #7 - Not removing your makeup at night
There are still times after a long day at work I would passed out on our couch without removing my makeup. I used to hate myself when I do that. But I learned to forgive myself along the way because there’s no point on stressing over it. It will break you out even more. Just make sure to make it up to your skin by putting a mask or exfoliating it the next day.
We are all humans after all we’re not perfect we make mistakes and that’s okay.
Acne #6 - Re-stocking favorites
It’s my first time to try alpha arbutin 2% + HA from the ordinary - it claims to visibly targets hyperpigmentation and dark spots which I have quite a lot from post-acne.
Let’s see if this works.
Acne #5 - Acne is NORMAL.
I remember the day my manager told me to “wash my face so I can get rid of my acne” as if it is an overnight thing. And mind you I wash my face twice a day. Everyday I come to work, my co-workers would remind me “it’s worse than yesterday *pointing at my face*”
IGNORE these people. Do not let them get into you. I am saying this because I learned the harder way. I would always stress myself about what other people’s opinion about me and in result I became unhappy and uncomfortable with my own skin until now. **it is a journey. and i am working hard everyday to love myself more and care less.
Stressed mind = stressed skin
Acne is NORMAL. Do not let it take you away from living your best life and most importantly your happiness and peace of mind.
Hi. This is kinda random but I really love to read your acne journey series. Anw, take care!! Here’s to clearer skin. 🥂
Hello. Thank you so much! This motivates me to keep going. I appreciate you a lot! 💓💓
