My Cleopyrrha
Patrochilles but lesbian.
Heres the reference to it.
And yes i based their attire off of ancient mycenaean/minoan wedding attire.
Did a bit of research and then start bullshitting.
O uh, the reason why my Chilles looks like that is bc uh. I imaged Peleus having brunet hair and Thetis with golden hair. And yk how blonde in real life eventually turn into brunet? Yea thats what it is.

Joined a webinar from the program I studied abroad in Athens with back in 2025 for a conversation about Nolan's Odyssey... The guest lecturer was such a Nolan fanboy & insulted anyone who brought up any percieved negative questions??
Notable things from that webinar:
- Said asking about Greek/Mediterranean people being in the cast was racist (automatically assuming "Greek = White" i see..)
- Said that Nolan's film was the greatest adaptation of the Odyssey ever made
- Said the film was made on a tiny budget, so ANYONE can easily make a film just like his
- Said that people who have shared even the smallest bit of negative opinions based on the trailers are just chronically online and that all the apprehension is just ignorant
Like I waited for this for two weeks, I was excited to see a genuine academic conversation from the sides of Greek professors, someone in the film industry, and other alumni of the program. Like yes, the lecturer had some points on how anyone can share stories online now and how there is a LOT of bad faith criticism. But I wanted a genuine exploration of thesw topics, and all I got was Nolan worship and mocking instead of any kind of genuine analysis as to WHY those filmmaking choices are made, what can be changed about a narrative without separation from its themes, and how ignoring cultural context affects the viewers perception of a story.
HEYY I wanted to ask how do you make your designs so pretty!?? They're just french kiss and I love them so muchhh and I love your videos on TikTok and tumblr
Designing characters is always a trip haha.. I have aphantasia, and have a specific vibe for wach character rather than actually seeing said character in my head, so the process seeks to recreate that feeling instead of a 1-to-1 picture
My design process usually entails spending an hour on Theoi or Jstor images looking at common imagery associated with the character I'm looking to design, and then drawing them out with said imagery, plus my own added things (such as Mycenaen/Minoan clothing, accessories, scars, body types, height etc).
Colors are usually where I struggle the most! It always takes making many different color palettes, as well as asking the people around me, until it eventually fits into what vibe I feel like embodies a character.
There's a LOT of convening with friends or professors to get what I want in a character design
Would it be okay if I dub your comics with full credit to you? Also- I love your art style btw it's sooo pretty :)
I'm okay with comic dubs so long as I'm credited! (And thank you!!)
I had to redraw this

I think it is extremely important for everyone in the Greek mythology community to know that even though Greeks can have light skin and light hair, and that white supremacists like talking about Ancient Greece and using statues as their profile pictures, it doesn't mean white supremacists actually like Greek people.
White supremacists use Ancient Greece to insert themselves and their beliefs, completely erasing an accurate Ancient Greece and actual Greek people and culture from the narrative. There's a reason why when discussing the casting of Helen in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, they only show pictures of blonde, blue-eyed, Germanic, or Anglo-Saxon women, and never actresses who are actually Greek or of Greek descent. Just like how a black woman playing Helen is an issue to them, a Greek woman playing Helen is also an issue to them.
Since the very beginning of the concept of whiteness, beginning in the 19th century, white supremacists have excluded Greek people from whiteness, like they did for other ethnicities that you may now consider white, such as the Irish and Italians. Whiteness did not exist before the 19th century. When whiteness was conceptualized, it was purposefully created to not just view people native to the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania as lesser than, but to also view other Europeans as lesser than.
Even if Greeks are viewed as white today, white supremacists still won't accept them because their culture does not fit into their vision of whiteness, and they don't accept them as descendants of the Ancient Greeks because they think it is impossible for them to be related to a past where they've inserted their perfect image of white society onto.
