Why is he expressing disapproval? You'd expect Cartman to start laughing or encourage the New Kid. Guess he doesn't like it when someone else takes his man's undies 😔

He doesn't show this behavior any other time. Such a small detail yet I can't stop thinking about it. My take is that Cartman doesn't like when anyone gets in between him and Kyle.

Like idc if you hc him with freckles or not bc it’s so obvious they flip back and fourth on giving him them… there’s two, maybe three times he’s depicted with freckles in canon material but also the time cartman very heavily implied he didn’t have them in his presentation about ginger’s but I’m tired of people being like “oh, freckles isn’t canon” when it’s so inconsistent in the series. I would say at this point that Kyle not having freckles is about as canon as Kyle having diabetes- there’s clear evidence for it but they’ve had plenty of evidence to the contrary too.

The two best examples are these two, one being that quick scene where they get those creepy faces (Kyle notably being the only one with freckles, meaning they were intentionally given to him unlike with Stan and Eric) and the yaoi art mission prize in The Fractured But Whole!

So obviously I know these are both played for jokes but in both, Kyle is always depicted with freckles as opposed to everyone else.

I don’t think it’s really that deep, as I’ve said before, I think Matt and Trey flipflop on giving him freckles, so neither headcanon is truly “canon”. While Ginger Kids might be the one episode he’s “confirmed not to”, other clips/Easter eggs in the show have sorta shown otherwise. In my personal opinion, if you truly want to take ALL evidence from the show, serious or not, Kyle having at least some amount of freckles is probably more correct than Kyle not having any at all.

Also, let’s talk about that scene in Ginger Kids! Because Kyle never explicitly denies having freckles and Eric never explicitly says he doesn’t, it’s just implied in a generalization Eric makes. But Kyle only ever claims to not have light sensitive skin, distinctly skipping over refuting the freckle notion which I find pretty notable and further convincing he might have them! Here’s the clip to prove it:

To be clear, this post isn’t an admonishment of people who still prefer him without freckles or headcanon he doesn’t have them, even based on this clip alone. Freckle Kyle is just a dumb little design that some people like and some people don’t, doesn’t have to be more than that and would be pretty harmless even if there was absolute confirmation that he didn’t have them at all. I just find it lowkey annoying and very hypocritical when people get up in arms about “canon”, particularly here where the canon actually is pretty grey and might even imply the contrary if you genuinely look deep into it and try to fit your personal headcanon over absolutely everything presented in the show.

Also one last piece of very unconvincing evidence that I might as well include just for funsies- keep in mind this isn’t at all confirmed as Kyle and I wouldn’t realistically use this to justify giving him freckles, moreso I just enjoy headcanoning it as Kyle in retrospect:

I always found it pretty interesting that the little boy they show telling Stan “You got it!” looks eerily like Kyle, sporting curly ginger locks and- FRECKLES! Clearly it’s him left wing destroyed Kyle freckle is CANON
