❝ no, not really. it just kinda happened. i was in med school when the position opened and i changed my course of study. plus, this place has some crazy relaxed qualifications for becoming a coroner, so it was easier to get the job. ❞

“i can see that… can we still do a movie marathon before since i’m pretty convinced that i’m going? because movie marathons are so much fun,” she smiles. the smile falters, though, as she has flashbacks of the carnival and bailey’s images are played in her mind. she shakes her head, “no horror movies, though! not a fan!”

❝ movie marathon before the ski trip, it is! ❞ she exclaims, a smile on her face. ❝ you’re not a horror movie fan? hmm. good to know. i’ll scrap texas chainsaw from the lineup, then. rom-coms, then? ❞

“i dunno, i kinda wanna go… sounds like it might be fun!” she thinks for a moment. sure, being left alone in this town would be creepy, but at least if she could stick with the crowd, she’d feel safer. “but a movie marathon is tempting… are you really not going?” she frowns.

❝ i’m considering not. ❞ she says with a shrug. she could already see the events playing out in her head. it wasn’t pretty. it also meant that if things went the way she thought they would, she’d end up there anyway, to look over the murder victims. ❝ the idea of not going is a nice one. ❞

“oh no, it’s not just you. i can promise you that,” she says with a huff of a laugh. “i don’t like it either. feels like the whole town’s on edge and we’re all just waiting…” she shudders as she looks away for a moment. “i’m hoping this hotel thing will be able to take out minds off of it, you know? i was planning a little stay-cay anyway, so perfect timing!” 

❝ oh, good. i was thinking i’d be left in this town, all alone, and i’m not sure if that’s better or worse than the town being full of people. ❞ either way, it would be creepy. the place always gave her the chill. ❝ i feel like, somehow, i’m going to end up at that stupid hotel, and that’s not going to be fun. but, if you want to have a movie marathon and celebrate not being at the resort, you’re welcome to come over. ❞

    for the record, kyndal eisley could propose they run into oncoming traffic and he’d be bolting into the street in record time. either way, the mere offer of some secondhand pasta and sauce has him springing to his feet, half-eaten package of red vines long forgotten. ‘ you’re too good to me, kyn, ’ he groans, balling up his stupid vest and even stupider bow tie and shoving the heap in his bookbag. ‘ seriously, if i believed in all that higher power, organized religion bullcrap, i’d swear your very existence was proof angels exist. ’

     ‘ you bet your sweet skippy i am. i’ve been stretchin’ my throwing arm all week in anticipation of this very moment. ’ confidence as false as the talons on the bleach blonde lady at the ticket booth, but they say believing in yourself is half the battle. ‘ just you wait, kynny. we’re gonna get one of those pandas faster than you can say trick or treat. ’

❝ can you throw that fast? ❞ she asks, raising an eyebrow, but smiling and nudging his side as she does so. her eyes scan over the booth attendant, and she tries her hardest not to shoot the woman an ugly look. she knows people find kenny attractive, but does that mean they have to stare when she’s standing right there? ugh. ❝ after we win that big bear, we have to go back home and snuggle, and watch horror movies, okay? ❞ she asks, eyes wide as she sits on the counter, waiting to watch him win.

    ‘ serious as a heart attack, kyn. the economy is in shambles. the cost of ramen noodles is at an all time high and my wallet’s hurting — plus, i just love these things ! ’ as if it prove a point, he pops a piece of licorice in his mouth and bites off the tip fervently. sure, it wasn’t exactly the supper of champions, but improvisation was key. besides, it gave him a reason to keep kyndal around a while longer. ‘ what’s the alternative? loitering inside the mcdonald’s drive-thru like some kinda juvenile delinquent? shakin’ down departing customers for a few measly fries? sounds like a great way to spend a saturday night. ’

❝ come on, i’ve got food at home. ❞ she says, shaking her head as she rises from her seat behind the concessions stand. he can’t be serious, can he? red vines and ramen. what a combination... ❝ i made a giant container of chicken alfredo last night. there’s plenty left, and you need to eat something that isn’t covered in red dye. ❞ her place isn’t that far from the theater, she hadn’t even brought her car. they could be at her house and eating in under ten minutes, and that sounded like a great plan to her.

kyndal likes to think of herself as a badass. really, she’s just a little too idiotic for her own good. she’ll run headfirst into a dangerous situation without even thinking twice. 

she was born and raised in deacon falls, and has dreamed of getting the fuck out of the place since she can remember. somehow, though, she’s always drawn back. 

she works as a coroner, despite how much she hates dead bodies. she tends to get the short stick, and ends up examining the brutal murders. 

her best friend is kennywatts (sup @filmncrd) and even though she refuses to accept it, she loves him. man, does she love that stupid, underfed, red vine eating doofus.

she’s not too intune w/ sidney. it’s more like she and sidney are fused as one person. they kind of exist as one entity, with neither of them leaving toward more or less in control. 

she spends a lot of her time reading in the park, as if she’s some character out of an old romance novel. surely that can’t be safe in a town like deacon falls, huh, kyn?
