This is my identity project.
This is a collage that is meant to represent my future as a teacher. I have included cartoons from the book To Teach: The Journey in Comics by Bill Ayers because it is one of my favorite teaching books. Additionally, I have included several quotes about children, education, and teachers that I find to be meaningful. I have included a picture of my THON child, Abby, and me because she (and her siblings) are the most important kids in my life right now and I love them very much.
This is a collage that is meant to represent my childhood. In it I have included references to Harry Potter, Junie B. Jones, Amelia Earhart, Hercules, Molly Moon, Michael Jackson, and Eloise. These are just a few of the things I loved when I was a child.
We were asked to draw a picture in the way that we remember drawing when we were a child; I drew Ariel because my parents say I was always drawing pictures of characters from movies, TV shows, and books that I loved.
Art education resources discovered over the course of this semester
A running list of what teachers are ...
Elements and principles of design
Art vocab page
An experimentation with crayons and watercolors; the wax from the crayons causes the watercolors to resist the crayon-colored areas
Sketchnote from reading about how the arts encourage cultural expression, acceptance, and celebration
Another reading on storydrawings
Reading: And what happens next: Storytelling
Tadpole is to frog as early artist is to expert reader
Art leads to better reading and storytelling skills
For this assignment, we were told to make a color wheel and then mess it up. Welp, here it is.
My Model Magic character
The character I would add to the art book "Jeremy Draws a Monster" by Peter McCarty (which is a terrible book, by the way, never read/use it)
This guy later turned into a Model Magic sculpture
Random scraps of paper modge podged into my sketchbook
Dream Garden
After a trip to the arboretum, we had to design what our dream school garden would look like.
