@kyras-the-wise
Been hanging around a lot of "post-left" spaces recently and it turns out they're actually all just as solipsistic and theorycel-brained as regular leftists, they just want to feel special by calling themselves something else. They're not trying to synthesize new ideas that transcend left/right to address modernity, they're still just circlejerking each other over leftist theory and leftist jargon and leftist reading lists but without calling themselves leftists.
I was talking to one guy who was working on his third (THIRD!) book, we were discussing an essay he'd written that was going to be included. In it, he was disparaging the dysgenic attitudes and norms of our current elite class, calling them unrooted and atomized. He unironically said "I'm rather proud of this characterization, I haven't encountered anyone else saying this about the modern 'priest caste'." Bro.
Leftists and "post-leftists" will spend 2 hours debating with each other over whether Theory or Community Organizing is more important to the cause, meanwhile the most basic rationales of managerial "high-low vs middle" problems and incentives are treated like creeds of mystery cults that only a party pooper or a fascist would bring up.
I wonder what it's like to have such an enchanted internal world that you can say things like "immigration benefits capitalism but so does anti-immigration, so what now?" and still pretend that you're tethered to reality.
Immigration benefits the ceos in capitalism because it keeps wages down.
Anti-immigration helps the workers because they get paid better wages
Capitalism is whenever there is money. Immigration makes some more money. Anti-immigration makes others more money. This is the true intellectual position.
so. i just learned that my entirely me-written resume flags as being AI-written by automated HR systems for a few writing quirks and the fact that i followed all the rules of good resume writing, which is apparently a telltale sign of AI use in this fucking hellworld. i've been desperately applying to jobs that i am massively overqualified for for months with no response, not even an interview, and now i find out that at least part of the reason is because some fucking moron decided that following the rules every career advisor has given me for a decade means i cheated and should be disqualified. the ai bubble cannot pop soon enough. what the actual fuck.
"frequent use of action-result sentences. bullet points all start with action verbs. no career gaps." girl what the fuck are you talking about. that's just resume writing advice being followed. i just did what i was told. it's a fucking resume. you're supposed to do all that stuff. what the fuck do you mean it looks ai generated and wouldn't pass basic detection systems?????????? for following the resume writing rules????????????
wishing every AI bro and ceo a very [REDACTED]
