something SO self indulgent solely for the fact that James Ortiz is eligible for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance in PHM. Practical effects in movies are so so important to me, and I was SHOCKED to find out Rocky was a puppet and not completely CGI. Idk it just makes me so excited and happy when movies utilize puppetry and prosthetics and real, intricate sets and wire work and take the time to let artists create things by hand because that heart really comes across in the film. I really hope he gets it because that would be absolutely insane.

phm is decently popular in japan and i mostly see this when i check twitter and see accounts posting pictures of handmade rocky plushies that are so fucking round looking it brings a tear to my eye

Rocky and Grace are yelling at each other. Rocky stops mid argument to demand that Grace put on his angry eyebrows. Grace immediately stomps to the whiteboard, stomps back over with the dry erase marker, draws angry eyebrows on the xenonite ball. the argument continues

I like to think about that the bike Grace had, where (in the movie, I don't remember about the book), it never made it back to his home. Sitting there for days. Weeks. How long was it there before it was moved? How long did the students watch it as they passed, knowing their favourite teacher, their backup, maybe even their safe space, wasn't coming back. I like to think they left things there. An homage to him. First one student stuck a flower in the rusting metal spokes of the front wheel. Then another.
