The Kaleidoscope Claims Another
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Not everyone gets claimed — that’s what the Camp Half-Blood welcome pamphlet says in fine print. Nadia, newly arrived at camp, has no idea what this demigod stuff is all about, although her tour guide, Hadley, promises that she has a plan to get her claimed by the end of the week. Well, maybe the weekend. Or Tuesday. Tuesday for sure. But getting claimed depends on Nadia making it that long, and between the Hephaestus cabin’s deadly upgrades to the climbing wall, being caught in the crossfire of the Aphrodite and Hermes kids trying to start up pegasus racing, and narrowly surviving the weekly games of Capture the Flag, she’s not sure she’ll have time to write home, let alone discover who her godly parent is. She just hopes that as she navigates craft nights, sword fighting, and chores around camp, she can finally find a place where she belongs.
I wrote the letters home and helped with characters and worldbuilding— brightentheblue wrote most of it! Super funny story, exploring more of the world of Percy Jackson.
