Heeeyyyy (: I love your art (my artstyle is based off of your old Pinterest artstyle), you also made me get into magnus chase and gave me the biggest phase of a book series, I also have some questions (abt art tho): do you use references for poses? And if you do what do you search for to get those references? Then where do you get your inspiration for things that aren't in the magnus chase books for you to draw?

ok so funny thing, I’ve never actually used references for anything (do not do this it makes my life hell) except for when I can’t figure out how to shade the face or occasionally I look at my own hands for reference

for ideas I used to scroll on Pinterest a lot and have a lot of prompts in my camera roll but now I mainly wait until something comes to mind in the middle of class, a lot of the time angst, and pretty is up at home

Wish I have more helpful stuff but I am a really big “fuck around and find out” artist

What’s your opinion on Alex and Magnus as a couple?

I never got as invested in the ship as much as blitz stone but I still think they’re cute. The same with blitz and Hearth, I imagine their relationship is really just “we’re best friends that may-or-may-not kiss once in a while”

The sketch, line art, and coloring isn’t anything special but normally for shading I set the layer to multiply and color the whole thing in and erase the spots the light hits then go over a few areas on another multiply layer on like 50. I didn’t do that here since the light isn’t that strong. I also could not bring myself to do any background

Also I’m doing well, art block hit like a bus again though 😔

Hello hello hello I actually love your art and Ive been following both your Pinterest and now your Tumblr for a while. Anyways wanted to ask you how long you've been doing art and how did you learn? I really admire your art style and just the way you draw bodies and I feel like I should try learning more on how anatomy/the body looks and moves but that's just a comment. Oh and also what's your favourite color or color palette? Mine is brown and green😸

I’ve been into art for as long as I can remember though I got really into drawing characters during quarantine. I remember watching drawing tutorials a lot before just doing my own thing for years (do not recommend that led to some funky proportions and a lot of frustrations). Creating my ocs and comics for them was a good way practice drawing a lot of things though

There are also a lot of artists I look up to like WolfytheWitch, Blackkatdraws, 2AmAnimations etc. that I’m sure have influenced my style. (Shout out to Snapdragon by Kat Leyh one of my favorite comics)

I think just the most important thing is I just found I like a cartoony style and ran with it

as for colors I really like a lot of purples :D
