Here is how it works: The dolphin finds an empty conch, then carefully positions the conch on the sea floor with the opening to the conch up. Eventually, small fish and other small sea life enter the open conch. The dolphin then picks up the conch, takes it to the surface, gives it a shake so that the small fish etc. fall out into his or her mouth.

Lastest news on the Vaquita population.
SeaShepherd is on the scene, but still no real data on the population’s status. As well, it looks like fishing is still a problem. Even more sad they ditched their catch, to avoid getting arrested. A huge net of fish had to die in vain.

We think they were all young female orcas we saw and this display was probably a feeding lesson and also a game to keep the cohesion of the pod.
