I’m honestly just so happy and at peace

A heads up if anyone noticed I’ve been gone for a while. (things get a lil heavy ish- cw drinking, ed, sex, smoking)

I moved out of the apartment I moved into with someone I grew up with and their best friend, and then moved in with a coworker’s family, and finally moved into a new place where my roommates and I respect each other, clean up after ourselves, and honestly rarely see each other.

Things got very painful and toxic for a while there (I don’t want to go into all that crazy shit since I’m still dealing with some repercussions and I’m really truly over it), and in my need for affection, stability, and physical touch, I did things that I do not only regret, but abhor (I slept with someone three times knowing full well he had a girlfriend- and then had to move in with his family when my other housing situation got incredibly out of control). I also held on way too long to friendships that were well overdue to end. I literally stopped eating for two months and became obsessed with my body image, which was undeniably easier for me to pull myself out of than many others I know. I got incredibly hammered with a friend (we’re talking 4 long island iced teas and two shots of Don Julio wasted) and ended up waking up in an ambulance on Easter Sunday with my bag stolen. Oh, and hooking up with my current partner after getting blackout drunk and puking all over his bed (I knew when he bought me breakfast the next morning and still wanted to get together that I need to hold on to this one- we’ve been together 6 months now and sober for over a week AND he’s going to quit smoking)

But! All this ended in me finding my new place, moving up at my job, volunteering at a gallery (FINALLY!), and meeting someone who I truly feel like I could spend every moment of my life with. I’ve never felt so free and happy before and I love life, even with the stresses and hard times. I finally know I have a good group of people around me who really just want to see me grow.

Life is good, and I’m treasuring every second right now.
