Just to introduce myself!

Hi I'm Sian (pronounced 'Sharn', or you can just call me Barns if it's easier I don't mind)! 🍂

I'm an illustrator and I've been drawing and creating my own original characters since I was young. I'll be mainly posting my characters and fanart :) 🎨

I'm about to study illustration at university and I'm so excited for all the new things I can learn. I already know that I aspire to be a graphic novelist (with my own characters) or concept artist for characters! I'm really looking forward to finding out what other fields of profession I will love and explore. ✍️

Viktor nation...how are we feeling...?

I wanted to interpret Viktor in my own style since i’m currently experimenting and trying to challenge myself more. I am also trying to do more fanart and to step out of my comfort zone, which is drawing my own characters. For me, drawing my own ocs feels safer as there’s no right or wrong answers. I can’t misinterpret the character as i understand the creators (my own) intentions. i can’t draw the character ‘wrong’. i have more fanart on the way that i am excited to share with you :)

I need to rewatch arcane as it was such an amazing series. I loved being able to relate to a character for once. Viktor captures an experience that many chronically ill and disabled people face. it was refreshing to also see a young character use a mobility aid, since they are stereotyped to be used by only old people.

In media, representation is so important. As an illustrator id love to be able to create my own characters that make audiences feel included and heard
