Achilles and Patroclus's last goodbye

My latest work!! I've wanted to paint these for so long now, AND I WANT TO EXPLAIN WHAT IT MEANS SO DEAL WITH ΜΕ

Achilles lends Patroclus his armored armor for war, they're still on a camp net while Achilles begs to him not to go. Behind Patroclus is a mirror that shows a glimpse of the future; Patroclus's death by a stab on the lower stomach and Achilles's future shield, crafted by Hephaestus to fight Hector after Patroclus dies.

The only thing Patroclus isn't wearing is Achilles's helmet, and this perspective is purposeful to show how empty will Achilles be when Patroclus is gone.

The direct light of the candle casts a shadow that displays them as if they were kissing, a wink to their love hidden behind a friendship.

Redraw of the cover of my webcomic ❤️ I published it almost 3 years ago so the old cover was kinda lame. It's called "Sinful cries of a fallen angel" and it's available on tapas (uncensored) and I soon will publish a censored version in webtoon!
