PLEASE check out dr@gônfrû¡t.a¡ , i saw a sticker at a mall in the town over from mine and says they use this, clients including AM3R1C@N 3AGL3, LULU, C@N@DI@N T|R3, AND MORE. Al LP technology is ALREADY HERE in YOUR TOWN.
it says it can predict behavior before you even do anything, and the nature of it means it automatically becomes smarter the longer it runs. this CAN and WILL be your downfall - you need to make sure your sleight of hand is perfect, your area, your posture, your expression, your movement, EVERYTHING.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
check YOUR local stores for any signs of Al being implemented; all i saw was a very obvious sticker on the window by the door advertising dr@g0nfrû¡†. YMMV.
re-assess your lifting habits - now more than ever, it is dangerous and feasible to get caught even with great technique. you don't need to lift out of necessity... but please be aware of your habits. are you doing this to self soothe? to avoid an emotion? this can become a real addiction, and you deserve forms of self care that don't threaten yourself. it can feel like fun and games, but this really is serious.
re-assess yourself - i hate to say it, but we know Al will have bias, and this affects some of us more than others, including POC and the disabled. if you are autistic or otherwise neurodivergent especially, your gait, posture and general movement could potentially flag the Al to watch you more. (anyone else remember the post about how LP watch for elbows on the shopping cart...?)
harm reduction - zero judgement if you continue, either for fun or for necessity; my heart seriously bleeds for those of you that rely on this to live. but you need to brush up on skills, REMEMBER YOUR RIGHTS, and try to not take things you know you don't need.
alternatives - obviously 🧬 is unaffected and it's business as usual, consider swapping methods either partially or entirely. for perishables, there's no harm in seeing if your local food pantry can take extra people (is it only near me where you have to sign up for it...!?)
i love each and every one of you and if companies weren't so fucking evil this would be a cool technology... but god we all know how shit the economy is. to tally a total and it's so much higher than it should be. many of us only have a taste of a form of proxy financial freedom though this and that can be invigorating, but if it's overconsumption, it isn't sustainable. i know that was a bunch of buzzwords back to back but it's true

soo many stores do this thing where they tag the first items on rack but then the salesppl kinda were over it? and the back items are untagged? it's sooooooo much fun to find them
and i only know ONE store where those bitches NEVER miss a tag. but i do admire them for their discipline and consistency
for new lyft3rs or anyone who doesn't know -
both cv$$ and w4llgr33en$ have EXTREMELY lenient lyft1ng policies:
cv$$ and w4llgr33en$ employees are not allowed to confront lyft3rs, d3t41n them, or apprehend them. they aren't even allowed to follow you outside or take a picture of your license plate. the most they can do is offer ECC (exceptional cust0m3r c4re) such as phrases like "are you finding everything okay?" to try to deter you from lyft1ng or follow you around the store. they CAN (but rarely do) file p0l1ce reports and have enforcement trespass you after the lyft, but the employees themselves can't do shit and frankly aren't paid enough to care. often times the p0l1ce don't even arrive in time to take action.
at w4llgr33en$ specifically, i know that employees will be immediately fired if they do so much as exit the door when pursuing a sh0plyft3r. running out is a viable option in both stores, but works even better at w4llgr33en$.
items of interest:
makeup (eyelash curlers are usually t4gged for some reason, check anything over $25 to be safe), electronics (90% of the time are taagged and somewhat hard to remove, see tip 3 for advice), feminine products (not tagged), food (not tagged), assorted medicine (depends), medical devices (depends), and supplements (not tagged)
tips:
- don't leave packaging behind, they'll sus you out and it just makes everyone's lives harder.
- get in, get out. don't spend time wandering.
- if something you REALLY want has a hard to remove al4rm t4g on it, i wouldn't bother spending too much time prying it off. they most likely already know you're lyft1ng, and chances are that the t4g is fake. if the al4rm happens to go off and caught an employee's attention, keep walking and leave the parking lot IMMEDIATELY.
- just because these stores are easy doesn't mean that you should be stupid and openly c0nc34l in front of an employee or camera. as i said, if you visit the same place more than once, they can take note of you and get you trespa$$ed. practice safe lyft1ng anywhere you go!!

If anyone wants to add things feel free to reblog. I mainly use concealing/sleight of hand, I would like some tips on using bags in a way that doesn’t set LP on my ass immediately.
GENERAL TIPS:
- IF YOU SEE SOMEONE ELSE CONCEAL, GET OUT. I’ve seen so many LP staff talk about using this tactic to ease suspects into stealing and getting caught. Just finish checking out (if you’re buying) or walk out.
- NEVER LOOK DOWN WHILE YOU CONCEAL. This is force of habit for me while putting something in my bag and it should be common sense, but with the way I lift I have no anxiety and act like a regular shopper. This can be bad.
- DON’T SH0PL1FT IMMEDIATELY. If LP is watching you, they will likely continue until a reasonable amount of time has passed or if someone more suspicious enters the store.
- HAVE A FRIEND ACT SUSPICIOUS. This only works if you go in separately, you enter first and your friend enters secondly. Have them wear baggy clothes, constantly look around, not make eye contact with staff, pick up high value items, etc. this draws LP (and likely staffed cameras) away from you.
- GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE. (preferably 1-2 others) this works best if you’re white and over the age of 20.
- DO NOT GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE. Teens are known for shoplifting in groups. If you’re not white, being in groups WILL make LP target you because of the appearance of an OCR (and most of them are pos racists).
- NO BAGGY CLOTHES OR HUGE BAGS. (it’s suspicious. Bring a tote bag or purse if you have to)
- BE NICE TO THE EMPLOYEES! Just be nice guys. They’re not paid well enough to risk their legs, and if you’re nice they’re less likely to keep you in the store for LP.
- SOMEONE IS ALWAYS WATCHING YOU. Target with cameras hidden in their shelves, LP, employees, snitches, someone is always watching your every move. Just assume that everyone will see you and it will make you careful, and reconsider risky items.
- DON’T LOITER! A lot of stores are rolling out ‘AI’ theft prevention, and the system will flag you if you stay in one spot for too long. (or even reach for a bag.)
- THEY’RE BUILDING A CASE ON YOU. Big box stores DO NOT PLAY. Just assume that they’re trying to get you on a felony charge and waiting until you’ve stolen enough.
Slight of hand:
This advice works the best for small things, makeup/perfume and little trinkets (which is mostly what I lift)
- SCARVES! I love scarves. Scarves scarves scarves. I’ve sewn hidden pockets into all of mine, and since I live in a colder place it’s all cool to ‘adjust’ the scarf and tuck items into it.
- GLOVES/TIGHT SLEEVES. I’m talking about the ones with holes cut out for your thumbs, that cover half of your palm. Super easy to tuck small things in while you’re messing around with the displays.
- DON’T IMMEDIATELY PUT THINGS INTO YOUR BAG. Just don’t do this, it alerts LP and the loss prevention AI shit.
- BLIND SPOTS ARE ONLY BLIND FOR A BIT. Keep moving. Assume LP are watching you.
- IF YOU NEED A BLIND SPOT KNOCK SOMETHING OFF THE SHELVES. When you bend down to pick it up, use the space between your body and the floor as a blind spot.
