After Landgraab’s latest toxic factory leak, aquatic life in three cities is endangered — and you’ve been tasked with building an ark to preserve them.
Your Sim is a marine biologist recruited to the newest "Treefish Watch" lab. Their task is to fill 22 tanks with fish of each species! (See optional mod for BG tanks below).
🔬 Ideas For Your Story
Create a Sim with traits like Genius, Loner, and Loves Outdoors. Then create their three quirky colleagues: a cowplant-tattooed cowplant expert, a rocker wizard of microscopes, and the aloof head of the xeno life department.
Build a lab with a few themed areas: a fish tank room with blue tiles and water sculptures, a microscope basement with cement bunker vibes, a rooftop cowplant garden, and a cozy living space where they all can hang out between experiments.
You can either move your main Sim into the lab and give them the "Always Welcome" trait, or add all four Sims to the same household and play them together.
🎣 Gear Up
Read a fishing guide (Carl’s Guide is awesome!)
Put camping gear in your Sim’s inventory: bed, chair, grill or cooler
Use Ravasheen’s Bus or skill up to access hidden lots
Main Objective
Place a fish of each Base Game type in a fish tank. Optionally, place a photo/taxedermy of the fish above it.
Don't forget! Create a public display area so visitors can view your aquatic preserve. You can use the Mr. Maritime Aquarium by simsi45 — a base game tank that holds six fish.
You can also decorate areas of the preserve to reflect the biome where each fish was caught.
🧺 Side Activities (Optional)
Visit community garden for bait
Write fishing themed books in any genre to promote your cause
Improve handiness to roleplay fish tank maintenance
If you don't use Ravasheen Bus Stop, you'll need high Handiness to access Forgotten Grotto.
🎵 Personal Touch
My protagonist is a vegetarian, so he never eats or mounts fish. He also listens to classical music and always brings a stereo to enjoy rhapsodies while fishing. What kind of quirks would you add?
🔧 Gameplay Tips For an Easier Time
Expand your inventory by dragging its frame — this helps you track which fish you're missing and which ones can be used as bait.
Drink Instant Hygiene potions when camping for long periods.
Watch the water to get clues about what kind of fish you can catch.
That’s it! If you try the challenge, use #TreefishWatch in the Gallery so you can use my sims and builds!
They're random category and sometimes use CC. You can download CC free Base Game sims shown by direct link on my site (no ads). You can also use my Gallery ID lada-plumbob / tag #ladaplumbob.
CC used are probably one of those on Patreon: Trillyke, greenllamas, Belaloallure, ImVikai, Sentate, Rusty's, Joliebean, aharris00britney, arethabee, clumsyalien, Pralinesims, simstrouble.
I love townies that are Maxis Match but nothing you can see in a Gallery top' downloads. I present to you... 72 sims for your save file!
Note that my characters have personalities but MCCC would swap their traits and preferences if you place them via Populating module.
What is different about my beauties:
Detailed outfits in unpopular swatches and gender tags swapped
Hair and makeup changes throughought every situation
No karsashian bodies or korean makeup on males
Those townies are as Maxis Match as it gets. They represent tropes like tormented artist or heart of gold jock, but sometimes their story is deeper. You can meet an overweight geek who dreams of a bodybuilder career or a hipster that wears bulgar's outfit at night and is secretly a criminal.
Young Adults don't have skills or careers but have some likes to add to the story. No one has a dislike or special romance preference so you won't have a problem of you wish to play them.
Adults have skills and careers from Story Mode, and their likes and traits do correspond.
If you want to download them from the Gallery, search for lada-plumbob id. Download them all from Google Drive or directly from my site.
You ride all the way from Pleasantview only to graft plants. And to mend a heart broken after your spouse died. Now you've bought a cute house far away, so you can someday turn it into a community garden in her name.
This challenge is about an elder who lives in hotels, resorts, and vacation rentals, all while they harvest wild plants. Sometimes, they return to their home lot to plant, fertilize, and graft.
In the end, they will conduct a research and complete a plant collection worthy of any botanist.
🌱 The Process
Collect wild plants only. No seed packets or buying produce!
Research grafting recipes for each plant before attempting.
Fertilize with high-value items to speed quality growth.
Graft high-quality plants only — low quality ones may die.
Complete the basic 30 plants collection and convert your home lot into a community garden.
No cowplants! That’s what killed your spouse…
🎯 Events
Whenever your Sim encounters a specific NPC type, trigger a small side quest:
Local Fisherman: Rumors say rare seeds can be caught in local waters. Take fishing lessons from any Sim you see fishing in a park.
Local Gardener: Befriend a gardener NPC and spend time with them when they visit — they might share gardening secrets.
Local Homeless: A park wanderer tells you to bury crystals beneath plants... You don’t believe them, but you still collect crystals in every new park.
Senior Ladies & Gentlemen: You're lonely. Talk to hotel guests. You may find love again — someone who shares your love for the outdoors.
📓 Botanist’s Field Notes (Optional)
Paint each new plant species you find. Keep the sketchbook in your inventory.
Photo each new species and use the screenshot manager to comment on its origin.
Write three non-fiction books on each world’s native plants.
🧳 Travel Tips
Evict townies to convert their homes into vacation rentals and explore every neighborhood.
Earn the "Always Welcome" trait to crash with Sims and observe their daily life.
Upgrade parks into resorts using gallery lots or add hostel-style rooms on community lots.
🎭 Roleplay Ideas (Optional)
Your Sim finds a frog by a pond — it’s now their travel buddy and gets placed in every hotel room.
They stay fit to feel confident on dates. Pools in hotels are their new gym!
🛠️ For Easier Gameplay
Drink “Pitch Black” tea for focus.
Add the “Homey” lot trait to your residential lot.
Earn the “Explorer” reward trait for skill boosts.
Use the “Genius” Sim trait for a focused mood and skill gain.
Graft vegetables to conserve gardening space.
Buy your home lot near one of the three community gardens.
🧩 Mods That Fit
Ravasheen: Ink For Yourself journal as a screenshot/story log.
Absolutely Radishing garden planters for more diverse gardening setups.
Lifetime Aspirations Reworked by NeedCoffee4That — removes milestone steps, leaves one focused goal.
LittleMsSam: Buy Better Matress — sleep well even on community lots with aesthetic beds! Social Activities — skip time between harvests.
🏨 Gallery Lots That Fit
Aero Hotel
Desert Bloom Resort
Find my memorial garden by #widowedbotanist tag in a gallery or by id VadimGg. Happy simming❤️
I use CC a lot but always remove it for my gallery uploads. I’ve noticed that people often use CC to fix the basic face shapes the game generates, so here are some tricks to make faces more interesting without relying on face detail kits.
Play With Proportions
Imagine you’re 12 years old again and really amused by large noses and small mouths... Make everything exaggerated, then balance it out again.
Basic face types (that are absent from the game's generation system) are all about accents: wide mouths with tiny lips, round faces with tiny chins, big noses with small eyes... These are archetypes you’ll use often with this trick.
Use Cheatsheets
Speaking of archetypes, there are three ways to make townies using default settings. One is to use templates from CAS. The second is to breed them in genetics mode. The third, which I use most often, is to refer to the viral ethnicity chart.
It gives you a general idea of the face proportions you might encounter. The game only generates round faces for women and square faces for men, so this chart is really refreshing to use.
Choose a color scheme
This is general advice for any decorating: choose a palette using a website or create your own, then stick to it. Never use default makeup colors, and change the hue whenever you can. That way, you’ll get a unique makeup texture without using CC makeup.
Forget gender tags
Yes, triangle boobs aren’t ideal, but the catalog is too limiting with gender tags. Remove all filters for clothing except color. That way, we finally have sneakers for a wedding, sweaters for cold weather, and a boyfriend's t-shirt as sleepwear.
Make it immersive
I can't stand seeing Bella Goth swimming in the pool with her Old Hollywood hairstyle… It takes time, but I always make sure my townies have immersive hairstyles and makeup. They wear face masks (sun screen overlay) at night and put their hair in a ponytail when they go to the gym. Make it more lifelike!
Some other tricks I use all the time:
Don’t try to make your Sim pretty or hot. That’s determined by their style, not genetics, just like in real life! Take off their hair and clothes, make genetic adjustments, and only then style them.
Apply a color filter and randomize their clothing from the category. You’ll be surprised by the clothes hidden in swatches.
Avoid iconic outfits. I’m talking about Landgraab shirts and the Goth red looks. Use swatches no other townie has ever used. Believe me, no one can wear a jacket with a t-shirt like Johnny Zest did.
That's it! I now have 64 townies ready to download. You can also find me in a gallery under the name of VadimGg. Happy simming!
Inspired by the iconic Asylum Challenge, but more dynamic and immersive — no scorekeeping, no printables, just pure storytelling chaos.
🎯 Goals:
🌱 Grow your hotel from a grungy trailer park to a luxury resort.
👥 Hire new staff with every renovation milestone.
🏩 Choose from 6 unique hotel types.
😵 Survive chaotic roleplay events that’ll leave your staff in shambles.
Every time your staff builds enough skill, renovate and add a star to your hotel. Then, throw a themed party to promote your upgrade. Aim for a Gold Medal event!
🎭 Cast of Characters
I offer a cast of 8 soap opera characters like klepto maid and diva musician. Whatever characters you choose, I suggest picking aspirations that match their everyday tasks.
For example, manager makes friends and hosts parties, so "Friend Of The World" and "Party Animal" will earn them points fast.
📝Notes:
Switch the community lot before each renovation — or bulldoze and build anew. Your chaos, your call.
Add new roles with your packs (spa guru, baker, celebrity handler…).
Daily tasks stack — don’t reset.
Some events may require switching back to a home lot ("Hotel Dorm").
Sims occasionally refuse paid mentorships — deal with it!
I love the quality-of-life features that come with some packs, but I ended up not buying any. Instead, I came up with my own ways to replicate those features using only the base game.
The ideas below don’t require any CC, but I’ll still recommend a few that I really like.
Library
Use the same lot type in different creative ways. One library could be an internet café with a great coffee machine and a gaming mat. Another could be an old-fashioned municipal archive filled with expensive skill books. And finally, don’t hesitate to make a science lab that’s open to the public.
Bar
A fun bar setup is a two-story building. The second floor can be a thrift store where your Sim sells collectibles, or a buffet (Ravasheen has some great ones). I often turn it into a hostel-style motel, so Sims can sleep after a night of drinking.
Gym
Working out can be a chore in this game. Add the Clothing Optional lot trait for the hilarity of naked Sims yelling at each other at workout machines. And of course, include the best bath setup possible for a spa area—so your Sim can relax sore muscles and feel great the next day.
Park
Parks are a great place to stash all the bulky or awkward items. A rocket can be placed in a restricted area of Oasis Springs, the observatory makes a great landmark for Newcrest, and cozy cafés fit perfectly along the Willow Creek riverbank.
My personal favorite is the Ravasheen bus stop, which lets you visit hidden lots without going through annoying text quests.
Custom venue types
I never use all venue types in my save file. Why? I stick to the ones with simple requirements. A pool, spa, boxing bag, and dancing mat can give you four fun variations of a gym. A nature survey camp, cookout area, and glamping setup create three distinct versions of a park. I do this with every venue type—so there’s always something fresh to look forward to.
General tips
Use lot traits wisely. Each trait should boost the venue’s main activity so you’re rewarded for visiting.
The Lifetime Aspirations mod has great reward traits—like Explorer, which gives skill boosts when your Sim learns outside the home.
Fix your lot, not your Sim. If your Sims obsess over one sculpture in a museum, don’t delete it—replace it with something fun. A Baby Yoda shrine, maybe?
Stick to functional CC, not decorative. Managing lots of CC furniture gets overwhelming. Functional CC (appliances, leisure items) can be used more creatively and keeps your catalog clean.
Always multipurpose. Lots can feel empty unless they serve multiple functions. Try adding a second venue or a secret room to match your Sim’s current goals.
I really enjoy short "Rags to Riches" save files, so I made another variation. This one explores the base game mechanic of living in other sims’ houses for free and borrowing their money using a high charisma skill.
It comes in two flavors: a good version and an evil one.
Both involve living in the luxury of someone else's mansion while your sim levels up their charisma. The Evil Sim also steals from their hosts and community lots. The Good Sim helps out around the house and earns money by taking care of the garden.
How to Play:
Use the "Sticky Fingers" aspiration and/or the Kleptomaniac trait to steal.
Get the "Always Welcome" reward trait so you can cook, sleep, and bathe in other Sims’ homes.
Plant seeds in the yard to start a garden, or take care of a community garden (the base game has 3 community gardens).
Backstories (optional, for extra fun!)
I can’t play without a backstory, so here are a few I came up with. You can roll a die to pick one at random:
Handy Sim – You make money by offering renovation services. Stay in people’s homes and upgrade everything you can. Use mods (3 options) or cheats to reduce upgrade part costs.
Bodyguard – You work out every day and live with your patron to “protect” them from fires and small talkers.
Painter – You’re hired to paint portraits for a week. Leave the finished artwork in their home when you’re done.
How to Win:
Complete one aspiration.
I recommend "Mansion Baron" or "Fabulously Wealthy."
I use the "Lifetime Aspirations" mod to skip the middle steps and streamline the challenge.
This challenge usually takes around 50 hours, but I wanted something shorter! My version takes just up to 4 hours and is a blast!
Backstory
You wake up in the middle of nowhere with no memories, clutching a mysterious certificate of ownership for this "nowhere." After struggling to survive on the streets, you finally manage to build a small hut and land a job. But more importantly — your memories are back! What are they?
Create Your Sim
Your Sim has no skills and dislikes all activities (yes, we’re here for a grumpy protagonist).
They should wear only one outfit, as if they have nothing else to their name.
Another option: Cheat Handiness 10 so your Sim can visit Forgotten Grotto for fishing and collectibles. They’ll also be able to dismantle appliances for upgrade parts to sell.
Choose your difficulty mode:
🔴 Difficult Mode: Your Sim is a lazy loner—living in the park will make them tense, and they’ll refuse to jog anywhere.
🟢 Easy Mode: Your Sim is a kleptomaniac glutton—they’ll eat any lost, rotten burger they find and make easy cash selling stolen items. (I tested the easy mode—it's possible to complete in just 3 hours!)
Rules
✔️ Live in one park for every 3 days.
✔️ Eat what you find — grilled dishes, harvestables, vending machine meals.
❌ No selling flowers, opening time capsules, cracking fossils, or breeding frogs (your Sim has no knowledge for that!).
💰 Make money through bartending, playing instruments, fishing, and finding collectibles.
🏆Victory 🏆
Your sim built a hut with bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. He can now live a normal life!
I married this another homeless, registered my sim as a freelance astronomer, built him a house in a Comfy Cubby in Newcrest. And of course, he now has some new outfits!
Milestones
These are just ideas — you’ll probably come up with your own fun moments!
1️⃣ Befriend another homeless Sim in your park. 🤝
2️⃣ Take fishing lessons from a local fisherman. 🎣
3️⃣ Decorate your home with stolen items. 😈
Mod Suggestions
Ravasheen's vending machines & food stalls → Meals won't have bad quality or get stuck every two times like in the base game.
MCCC Cleaner → Lets you sell fossils & time capsules without opening them.
Ravasheen's Bus Upon a Time → I used this to visit Forgotten Grotto, but I didn’t dismantle appliances for parts.
Here's my formula for Bachelor Challenge. I tested it for Base Game and used only a few popular mods.
🏆Goal:
Find "the one" in just seven days! Get to know the contestants while living in a luxurious mansion — and if you succeed, the mansion is yours.
🏠 Set-Up:
Mansion: Contestants sleep in shared bedrooms, while the Bachelor has a private, locked room.
Pro Tip: If beds aren’t assigned, Sims will take naps instead of going to bed, leading to constant exhaustion.
Household: A diverse cast makes the challenge more entertaining! The Random Maxis Sim (lightbulb icon at the bottom of the screen) is a great choice.
Chores: Either buy a buffet table or hire a butler for daily meals. Personally, I find Ravasheen's buffet works best.
Social Spots: A gym, pool, and bar are fantastic spaces for Sims to mingle.
📜 Rules:
Send your Bachelor on a date with each contestant daily, except the first onboarding day. The winner is chosen based on the best date (totally subjective!).
⏳ Requirements:
Each day from 9 AM to 9 PM, you control one contestant. Keep them happy, impress the Bachelor, and plan a fantastic date.
From 9 PM to 9 AM, you control the Bachelor, making sure they stay healthy and content.
No forcing social interactions! Let the Bachelor decide how much they engage with contestants.
Romantic interactions aren’t required — but where’s the fun in that?
🏅 Victory:
Once you have a winner, gather the whole household in an open space and initiate a romantic interaction with a winner in front of everyone. Jealousy will spark hilarious reactions and reset the romance bar for all other contestants.
🎉 Congratulations! Now, move out the losers and live happily ever after with your chosen Sim.
🎭 Tips for a Fun Experience:
Disable romance-focused mods to keep attraction consistent and prevent contestants from falling out of the competition.
Make dates personalized! Example:
An active sim can train the Bachelor at the gym and make them a protein shake afterward.
An artsy sim can paint a portrait and gift it to the Bachelor.
An outdoorsy sim can fish and grill the catch later.
Avoid romantic aura objects — otherwise, sims might randomly flirt, get embarrassed, and end up hiding under blankets or talking to mirrors.
Keep stereos out of bedrooms! Without the Automatic Stereo Mod, stereos will be on forever. As a result, sims won’t sleep if music is playing.
Watch whims carefully — contestants might develop feelings for each other or dislike certain date ideas.
🔧 Recommended Mods:

Sims 4 Llama Valley Challenge (base game friendly)
Welcome to my Farm Challenge!
After trying out a bunch of farm-themed challenges, I decided to create my own! This one is structured, base-game friendly, and flexible, so you can adapt it to your playstyle.
Note: If you need help with cheats or mods, a quick Google search will point you in the right direction — I won’t be covering that here.
This challenge was inspired by two others: 1 and 2. I’ve combined the best elements and added my own twist to keep things fresh!
To win
Your main goal is to purchase all upgrades from the challenge list and complete the Freelance Botanist aspiration.
Additional Rule (If You Own Get to Work):
You must also open and successfully run a retail shop — because what’s a farm without a little entrepreneurship?
To spice things up, I’ve included 21 optional tasks you can complete for extra rewards.
By the end of this challenge, your farmer will have:
✅ A big, beautiful home,
✅ A thriving, happy family,
✅ A flourishing, perfect garden.
Backstory: A Farmer’s Legacy
Your grandfather was a legendary farmer — a true master of the land who earned respect and admiration. But when he passed away, his legacy was stripped away by debt collectors, leaving you with nothing but his crumbling old house and a stretch of barren, untended soil.
Now, it’s up to you to restore the family honor. With hard work, determination, and a little luck, you’ll rebuild what was lost — turning this empty plot into a thriving farm worthy of your grandfather’s name.
Set Up: Getting Started
I played this challenge with long seasons and long lifespan for a more immersive experience, but feel free to adjust the settings to your liking. (Tip: Starting in spring feels the most natural — use cheats to change the season if needed!)
Character Rules:
You must begin as a Young Adult (no skipping the hard work!).
Roll the dice to determine your Starter Pack — because every farmer’s luck is different!
Your grandfather left you one skill book to start your farming journey—roll the dice to determine your fate!
Roll a 6-Sided Die:
1-2 ➝ Cooking (Because even farmers need to eat!)
3-4 ➝ Gardening (The classic choice for a reason!)
If you roll a 5 or 6, you get one bonus EP/mod skill book! Choose from:
Herbalism, Knitting, Juice Fizzing, Baking, Flower Arranging, Canning, Nectar Making, etc.
No expansions/mods? Pick any base-game skill instead — every farmer deserves a hobby!
Starting Skills: You're No Beginner!
Since you didn't just fall off the turnip truck, your farmer begins with one skill already at level 2. Roll the dice to determine which skill you've honed before inheriting the farm!
Roll a 6-Sided Die:
1-2 ➝ Cooking (Grandpa always said a good meal keeps the spirit strong!)
Filthy (Dust bunnies multiply faster than your crops).
Gremlins (Because what’s a farm without “mysterious” tool breakdowns?).
Quake Zone (For those “is this land cursed?!” moments).
Step 4. Place the following objects anywhere in the house:
- Tent or cheapest bed,
- Woodworking table,
- Functional pile of books or cheapest bookcase,
- Fetilize-able bush or cheapest toilet (must be outdoors anyway),
- Cheapes grill (if there is none around),
- Outdoor bin,
- Washing tub and clothesline (if you own Laundry Day).
Step 5. Use cheat to reduce money to zero. That's right, you better hurry before you farmer got hungry! I suggest you to look around for collectibles, harvestibles and lost hotdogs. You can use community lots. You can't build mansion for community lot and live there!
