Mozart's 'Abduction' on the Orient Express
"The Abduction From the Seraglio" is a lesser-known opera from Mozart, but one distinguished by intensely difficult singing and a rousing tale of a young man rescuing his lover. The L&R Group of Companies filed plans yesterday with the city for a 52-story high-rise at 1600 S. Figueroa St. The tower would hold a 250-room hotel, 202 condominiums, 134 apartments and other elements. The design from the firm Gensler shows four different design elements in the building, including a large open chasm in the middle of the structure.
