I am Madame Céline De La Lune. Owner of The Amnesty of Valerie and appreciator of fine arts.

I was informed recently as to this website by my associate to be a convenient way of indulging in my passion for fine artistry in the modern age.

The device given to me to write as such post is a foreign device to me so you must excuse my unfamiliarity with the concept. As well, English is not my first language and writing with it a chore.

Mon Petite Cheri if this has found you I extend my thanks for the setting up of the images around my name. I hope to gain a stronger literacy for this device over time and value your assistance.

Wonderful post, and though I can't say I've partaken in many contemporary coffee substitutes, it brings to mind a trip I once took to Café Procope some time ago. I haven't come across a meeting place quite like it since, and it seems like an environment that would spark your interest. Did you ever pay it a visit?

Aside from that, I wanted to comment on your use of these tags as I too have struggled with them, particularly with this site. They seem to function both as an archival system and as a makeshift space for further comments, should they not wish to use the assigned text space here (which I may point out is where you have placed your tags, which is in no way wrong but does hinder their use as archival tools).

I've observed Brick use them this way on several occasions. It serves as charming example of how a small form of cultural expression can flourished through the appropriation of designed structures and technical spaces. Art outgrows and evades that which attempts to contain it, doesn't it?

Café Procope is a delightful little venture quite near to the city I spent much of my younger days in, I am charmed by the mention of it and filled with nostalgia. I have enjoyed your exploration of fine art (though I must say much of your blog baffles me) and am further impressed by your taste in classical European establishments.

I too have an affection for the sweet bitter mornings of coffee and a fine pastry. I have hardly bothered myself in keeping up with the current trends, though many of my employees seem to be getting their caffeine fixes from brightly coloured cans these days.

And to you Nocturnal Librarian, your manner of speak reminds me much of a close colleague of mine. I believe the two of you would have much to discuss if you would like me to put you in contact with him, though I quite doubt Mr. Inserra would be found on this platform

Entry 2: A Collection of Lover's Eyes

A trend I've been contemplating as of late has been the tiny miniature pins and brooches containing the eye of one's lover. My father had returned from England one year with one carefully wrapped for my mother, and the only thing everybody would talk about was that he happened to misremember her eye colour when commissioning it. Nobody knew why he had gotten it either, the trend was long past relevancy.

I've always found them interesting, though. They were easy to damage as the paintings were largely done in watercolour, and brandishing it during a storm would ruin it entirely. Many of them, in my opinion, were also poor in quality with cloudy, unfocused brush strokes that were unsuited for an image that required such a precise hand. Luckily, some of the stellar ones still remain in museum archives.

I find I'm becoming picky about the frames they were displayed in as well. They were meant to serve as a sign of devotion when given to a lover, yet some of them are so distracting that the message might have well have been thrown to the wind for the sake of flashiness. Many of them were gaudy things, though I don't mind them entirely for the ones here. The next one, however, I find much too large and distracting, and the position of the painting is not to my liking. It may be more suitable here to have a subtler frame, which might emphasize the allure and confidence of the subject.

Though these next ones are not as stimulating, I find I enjoy the "teardrop" frame. Quite effective in providing a more delicate appearance.

These next three are just awful, in my opinion. The frames are so distracting, which may have been necessary to distract from the awful brushstroke quality. I would be insulted to receive something this thoughtless.

They were poor images at times, but I have enjoyed looking through the different ones still surviving today. If anyone happens to come across this and is interested in looking further, I have written out the online source just below.
