Yesterday I rewatched the movie "In the Heart of the Sea." This is what I saw. I knew Chris Hemsworth and Tom Holland were in it. I didn't remember that Benjamin Walker and Cillian Murphy also appeared. The other actor I wasn't expecting was Joseph Mawle. In fact, I was glad his character survived the shipwreck.

Do you make your own bed? Sometimes. I love a made bed but I just rarely take the time.

Favorite number? I hate this question. I don't have a favorite number, I hate numbers. My hatred of math is visceral. The number I use most is 0206, which are the birth years of my four horses, strangely enough.

What's your job? Let's not talk about it. I work in hospice right now managing a volunteer office, and I really, really don't like it. Healthcare is not it for me. I am a copywriter/artistic creative by trade, this was a necessary leap for me after a nine-month layoff. Learning lots of management, though.

If you could go back to school, would you? If I could please redo my undergrad, that'd be great. Absolutely. I'm in the process of returning to school for a certificate program for film and video studies.

Can you parallel park? Yes, if I try and am not under pressure. Usually I won't, though, simply because the world sucks and is impatient.

Do you think aliens are real? I do, I am convinced Area 51 is not what it seems, and the Sims have been trying to tell us since forever.

Can you drive a manual car? Sure can, darlin'. I own a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with five on the floor. One of my favorite things.

What's your guilty pleasure? Fanfiction, hands down. Another is reading movie scripts. Probably the biggest is I love to study characters and fandom. It's my favorite thing.

Any phobias? Snakes, hands down. Snakes and monkeys, and apes. I just can't, no thank you.

Favorite childhood sport? Swimming. I could actually outswim the lifeguards at my community pool. I was asked to join the swim team at my local high school (I was homeschooled) and never did, one of the biggest regrets of my life.

do you make your own bed? erm...sometimes? usually when I've just washed the sheets, or if I know I'm having company later. otherwise I just kind of leave it as is, and tumble back in at night.

favorite number? so I don't really have one that comes to mind? if I absolutely had to pick one, maybe...24? there's something nice, and even, and pretty about that number to me right now.

what's your job? quality assurance analyst for pharmacy software. it's entirely new, and I'm learning a lot, and I can occasionally "nerd-out" and let my inner pharmacist out to play when we're testing certain parts of the software 😂.

if you could go back to school, would you? probably, if I had the money (I don't). as nerdy as it sounds, I love learning, and it would be a sure-fire way to get my hermit-like-self out of the house once in a while.

can you parallel park? well, I could when I took and passed the driver's education exam to get my license but that was years ago. could I do it now? probably not without a lot of adjustments.

do you think aliens are real? it certainly wouldn't surprise me. the universe is entirely too big for me to just believe that we're the only ones out here spinning around.

what's your guilty pleasure? so I kind of hate to call it 'guilty' in the truest sense of the word, since that implies some aspect of shame in it. but, that said, I can remember back when I first started writing fanfiction, when I was keeping it something of a secret for fear of judgment. it took a while for me to realize I didn't have to be ashamed of it just because my parents always used to criticize me for having an over-active imagination.

any phobias? spiders. any and all kinds. keep them far away from me, and if you're with me and I see one, you may be recruited to get rid of it while I go hide in another room as far away as possible.

favorite childhood sport? does dance count? if so, it's absolutely dance (I was involved in tap, jazz, and ballet from about 5 years to 16 years). if dance doesn't count, it should, but in the case that it doesn't, I choose hockey. not playing it, because I can't skate worth anything, but watching it was something I always enjoyed with my Dad.

do you talk to yourself? oh absolutely. though admittedly my words to myself are not often kind (in this house, we vacillate between self-deprecation and out and out hostility 😅. it's a (very long) work in progress to speak more positively, for sure).

tattoos? none, yet. though I've been debating getting one off and on for a while, now. my lack of considerable pain tolerance (and the risk of infection, having spent the majority of the last year immunocompromised) keep holding me back.

Spreading the Adariel love

A few days ago, I was listening to this song when I checked into Tumblr and saw an Adariel post from @itwillbeourswansong while it was playing. I started thinking I needed an edit of these two to this song…

So I decided to try and do it myself! This is the result and my first ever full length edit 😱

Notes before you watch it!

I'm not experienced in video editing. I have used Photoshop for many years for photos and graphics, but NOT films. So, this has been a learning curve, with lots of googling on 'how to' do this and that. That means this edit isn't 'professional' standard by any means. It was made with lots of love, but apologies if it's a little clunky! I honestly don't know about specific video editing software, so this was all done on Photoshop (which is possibly my all-time favourite software - it can actually do everything. No, I'm not sponsored by Adobe unfortunately 🤣)

The song "Someone Like You" is not the Adele version. It's from a not-so-well-known musical that I absolutely love "Jekyll and Hyde" (there are some other cracking songs in it too BTW if you want to check them out), but if you're not a fan of musicals, then soz this might not be for you! Though this number isn't cheesy.

You will need tissues - this I'm told by the wonderful @itwillbeourswansong who was kind enough to preview this film and let me know if it was good enough for public viewing (you might also need a prop - she was brought to her knees apparently 🤣😱… oh, and fire extinguishers - Adar is proper HOT in any edit)

I hope in season 3 of the Rings of Power. They give us more answers about Adar. First: let his real name be revealed. Because it doesn't make sense that they didn't reveal it if the character was already going to die. Adar must have been something important. I expect a flash back to Adar's past.

But please... don't think that this past is a Mufasa-style love triangle. Adar-Taka. Galadriel-Sarabi. Celeborn-Mufasa. We all know how that story ended. But seeing Galadriel's surprise at seeing Adar, in his elven form. This shows that they did not know each other.

I have a feeling that Adar was like Taka/Scar. Maybe he had it all. But for his actions. He lost everything. Even his name.

The only difference is that Adar did redeem himself. Scar never did.
