Ok here’s my full thoughts on Bridgerton Season 4 Part 1 (warning spoilers below the cut)
Ok I know we’ve only known them for 4 episodes but I’m already obsessed with Benophie 😍 I may be biased because Benedict is my favorite bridgerton sibling other than Francesca AND that I love Cinderella stories.
I also just really like Sophie. She’s very intelligent and sympathetic and I think Yerin Ha does a fantastic job.
That dance scene 🥵 the whole masquerade ball was just *mwah* chefs kiss!
I also just love the tension between the two of them. The dance scene is one of the hottest scenes in the show and I love the chemistry between the two. I cheered when they had that moment in the hall but screamed when Benedict asked her to be his mistress 😂
As for the other stories…
LOVE LOVE LOVE Violets storyline. I cheered when she had sex. It’s nice to see the mother character in a show like this get a storyline that’s all about her having sex again for the first time since being widowed.
I do miss my babies Kate and Anthony 🥺 But I’m thankful they’ll be back in part 2 and we’ll get to see their baby.
Ok I have a feeling Eloise’s story is gonna be next. We’re all thinking that, right? 👀 I’m both curious and scared to see how they’re gonna adapt her book because I heard apparently her book is super problematic.
I like seeing the house staff more this season. I like historical shows that focus on different social classes.
I like Francesca going to Penelope for sex advice. We love to see sisters-in-laws bonding.
Idk am I the only one who thinks they’re doing Colin dirty? Like he’s just a decoration. I kinda hated how his season was handled. I actually really like Polin and I feel like they were done dirty and are continuing to be done dirty. They and their actors deserve better.
That said, I did like the brief scenes we got of Queen Charlotte and Penelope. It’s cool to show Pen’s life after she was revealed to be Lady Whistledown. I wish we saw more of it tbh.
Now onto Francesca’s storyline…ok. Here’s the thing. I don’t mind the Michael/Michaela change. What I don’t like is how they handled Fran/Johns marriage. I loved their relationship last season and I feel like they undid it all by making her fall instantly in love with Michaela. I think it should have been where Fran/John were in love but can’t get pregnant and Michaela is in love with Fran. (I think that’s how it was in the book?) that way you can still have the conflict without sacrificing Fran’s love for John.
Overall, I really love this season so far! I will be eagerly anticipating Part 2. Please let me know your thoughts I love chatting about stuff like this ❤️
