So I finished my Sylvanas cosplay! I entered the Play Expo masquerade with my friends Terry Daedric Cosplay as Illidan and Rathalely Cosplay as Tyrande and we placed second! I had so much fun as The Banshee Queen!

I forgot I had a tumblr. Oops! A lot has happened, got a new bunny, I had a breast reduction (yay no more back damage!) and my hair is purple.

I never did post my finished Maleficent costume on here, so here it is! I’m pleased since it’s the first costume I made from scratch, but I’m already plotting an upgrade >:3

I've not posted much, my bad D: been busy. I made a thing!!!! Mostly recycled materials and paper mache :p it's all on a budget, so I'm super happy with how it turned out!

Had a great time getting Batwoman out for Play Expo! Entered the Saturday Masquerade just for fun and met a lot of lovely people. Batwoman is going away for a bit whilst I work on upgrades (a better suit/gauntlets/boots/functioning belt (that one's belt pouches are made out of chewing gum packets! :p ) and I'm going to work on my Arwen Coronation Gown, Maleficent, and Sylvanas costumes :) will post my sunday Lara Croft outfit soon ^^

Had a great time at Machester Comic Con this weekend! Met a lot of awesome people and enjoyed getting my Kate Kane on! I was a bit nervous as it was my first ever con but everyone was so epic and had a good laugh ^_^

Will hopefully have more pics of my costume and the con later, thanks to ladynoctis and asakuracos for an epic day :)

I'm reblogging this in memory of Rascal who died at the end of March peacefully in my arms. I miss him so much but looking through his photos helps me remember he was a very happy rabbit. He'll always be missed, my little monster.

This happened yesterday when I ended up in Skyrim trying to research my Maleficent cosplay. This happened instead.

Not seen the film yet (should be going on Friday) but I'm probably going to spend a bit of time outside my main Skyrim save flying around as Maleficent thanks to the animated wings and flying mods. I always wanted to be a badass horned fairywoma ^_^.

New Costume

I want to work on a new costume, but I'm sadly very shot of cash, so I've decided to challenge myself... Make my new costume on a very tight budget, but still get it looking awesome. I looked around and what materials I did have, and had an idea... Here's a clue to my next costume :p

I've been quiet lately, here's some pics of my current Skyrim playthrough. Sylandris the dark elf has changed a lot in the past couple of years with the release of mods and such, but I think she's well and truly a proper dunmer assassin/reluctant dragonborn now. Gotta love Xenius' ritual scars and the Eyes of Beauty's elven eyes really finish it all off. And some extra screenies for fun, along with a sneaky Veezara

My partner's Darth Maul for Star Wars day (minus the gloves which he put on after leaving the house) I think he looks fantastic, even though i'm biased x)

We got lots of calls of "May the Fourth be with you!" on our way to the club =D

Testing out Darth Talon makeup; this look and lekku are for a fun night out so focusing on enjoying it and leaving accuracy for future attempts (I need to make better lekku that sit smoothly on my head, so the headwrap won't be needed in the future) just got my ear-cones to make now.

ALL FEAR DARTH DERP! 

Now to practice angry sith faces. I can't seem to keep my face straight :p

Manwife shall be Darth Maul, a friend will be Sidious, so we'll be the derpiest group of sith you ever saw :3

My rough Talon lekku, I'm going to make a smoother pair and improve my clay mold (I'm utterly shit at smoothing air-dry clay), but this pair will to for a test run, wearing them for a night out on May the 4th ^_^ so going to finish off the tattoos. and add tattoos to a bodysuit since painting my body for a nightclub environment isn't exactly a wise move for me :p

I wanted a better sitting latex lekku, so I’ve put my first latex slip cast lekku aside and am working on my new set, based on how Talon looks as her Gentle Giant statue, since that statue is what drew me to Talon it makes sense basing my Talon outfit on that. but seriously, look how sodding long…

Yep, this technique seems to be the best for us apartment dwellers. I do like the swingyness that it seems to give the Lekku though,

How well does this clay smooth? I’m curious because I decided to use monster clay instead of modelling clay for mine, which has wax in it so to smooth it I heat it up with my hair dryer (heat gun would melt it too fast and leave it looking like a melting candle >.<) I like some aspects of it, unlimited time to work with the sculpt, no cracks, I can peel it off when I’m done and reuse it infinitely. But the one thing that bugs me is it’s so soft it conforms to the foil armature more than I want it to, and I’m worried that my Lekku are going to be very lumpy as a result. I’ll try and keep working with it to get it right but if I can’t I might try and make a version two out of a harder clay.

honestly I'm a bit broke so I'm using the air-dry clay because it's cheap xD I'd rather try what you're using, but the air-dry clay is easy to work with as long as your base is firm (the top of my lekku were too soft so I had a lot of cracks to fix) I do struggle to keep it smooth though. I might try something different when I make am ore generic lekku cast for other twi'leks ^_^
