"Lucy Westenra."
"Miss Westenra, ravishing."
"When Lucy and Mina are together, no-one can get into the bubble."
"Mina and Lucy are just besties! And when Lucy and Mina are together no one can get into the bubble. And I think, being with Mina is the only time Lucy really is completely herself, and there’s something so beautiful about when they’re together." - Jessica De Gouw
"What makes it great is the two of them being so close together and such good friends you begin to see the highlights of each character. She knows there’s something going on with Grayson and she doesn’t like it because she’s so protective of Mina […] I think the important thing to know about Lucy is… how she feels about Mina. And how her relationship with Mina shapes her […] Your friends make you want to be a better person, and I think Lucy really feels that about Mina" - Katie McGrath
Lucy mends Mina’s broken heart with absinthe, romance and a whirlwind tour of Bohemian London.

"Frankly, Lucy, I’m absolutely disgusted that you would compare me to a pick pocket." Roland pulled an arrow from his quiver and twirled in his fingers, "I could undress you with a single shot, I’m hardly your run-of-the-mill pickpocket. Furthermore, I removed the rings from your fingers before you noticed my presence and I would be more than happy to return them once you retract your comparison."
She looked down and saw what he claimed to be true."Why you charlatan!" Lucy gasped, though her shocked tone was tainted with something akin to admiration- she hoped he didn't notice. The level of skill that such an act would take.. "Pray tell, what else of mine have your wandering hands grasped?"  She demanded, raising a brow and crossing her arms primly. She would not sweep her hands over the places she concealed her gold, she would not check for her family heirloom of a locket, to do so would only provide further target for the rogue before her- at least one of her lessons from  traversing Dangerous London may prove useful.Â

tinyhood:
"Horde or not, that was undoubtedly the best decision you could have made." Roland ran his fingers through his hair, "Right, well now that I’ve stolen all your things without you noticing I’ll be on my merry way." he teased, leaning against a nearby tree. "As though you’d have anything of interest to me. Although I can’t help but remember that I do owe you a name. I am Roland of Locksley, though Roland or Hood both work just fine."Â
"Ah, I've a certain incredulousity about me that you even could- one might almost say I've grown with the slickest pickpockets in all of Europe in my own backyard."Â She smiled playfully, never one to dwell on her misgivings long. "Roland of Locksley?" Lucy repeated, rolling the slightly archaic address about, testing the words on her tongue. "Miss Lucy Westenra, Of London." She tacked the location on as an afterthought- there was something grand about the old ways of address. Something fanciful- and wasn't that the element she sought on this night escapade? Â Lucy gave the customary incline of her head, her aristocratic bearing coming to the forefront of her persona.Â
tinyhood:
"And you’ll find that it does little good against the likes of bandits or marauders dear." he said, eyes tracing up and down her figure, "As for your concern for manners, I regret to inform you that you’d be far stretched to meet any gentlemen in the middle of the to woods, and I myself am no exception. Now in case you haven’t taken the hint, m’lady, I’ll lower myself to the point of actually blatantly requesting that you extinguish your bloody lantern. I am certainly not in the humor to watch a beautiful woman be brutally murdered in my very own camp, but I can’t promise you any kind of protection if you’re going to go ahead and attract the entire sodding forrest.”
"I think I'll take my chances with the lantern, if it's all the same." She was not about to capitulate to the demands of a strange man in the woods, though she glanced hesitantly first at the light and then at the encroaching darkness warily. "I'm certain my mother has sent a horde out in search of me already, in any case." Lucy did not appreciate being made to feel vulnerable- and the reality of his words struck her as just that. She began to doubt her own conviction. She was not on the London streets, and she was not of the mind that her chances with any ruffians of the area would be good. She shifted her weight uneasily from one foot to the other, eyeing him once more. In the end, though, she made her decision.Â
The area was bathed in darkness.Â
'Please don't make me regret my actions.' Â She mused to herself, struggling to acclimatise to the realm of shadow she now found herself in.
Lucifer growled in annoyance. Her vessel was decaying, and it got worse every day. Bruises and spots of peeling flesh were spread across her body. It aggravated her. Especially the fact that’s she’s been searching non-stop for a way to heal her vessel and preserve it, but has had no luck. She was frustrated, and not in the mood for much of anything.
"I need a new vessel."Â Well, obviously.
"Why ever are you looking for a new ship? What you need is a doctor!" Lucy stumbled upon the poor young woman, obviously the victim of a street thug- or worse, an escapee of a conscription house for ladies of the night. Her mother spoke of such things in whispers with her sewing circle over the daily paper when she thought Lucy was from earshot. Â She moved cautiously closer, as if approaching a wounded animal.Â
tinyhood:
"The issue with that being that unfortunately those who can see the in the dark see lantern light particularly well." he walked a circle around the woman before coming to a stop in front of her, "Furthermore it can irritate those of us whose eyes have adjusted to the dark. You’d do well to be weary of frustrating us night dwellers, we have quite the temper." he teased, his playful grin glinting in the lantern.Â
Her gaze followed his trip, head snapping quickly from one side to another when she reached the confines of her necks ability to turn at her shoulder. In a rare display against her usual good humour, she huffed. "You'll find I have my own- and it happens to be tested by strangers accosting my presence and surveying me like cattle. A gentleman does no well to greet a lady in such a manner." Â Lucy led a sheltered life amongst the upper echelon- never before had someone insinuated themselves into her presence in such a way with no regard for social decorum or propriety and it left her off kilter, if reluctantly admiring of his gall. Not that she'd ever voice such a thought.Â
She’s not your usual society girl. She’s got a much darker centre and a much greater secret. She’s girly and she’s flirty and there’s sort of an ease about her. You begin to discover that everything that you see on the surface has no relation to what’s going on underneath. (x)
tinyhood:
Roland chuckled down at the woman, “You know that lantern is going to give you absolutely no protection.” he purred playfully, dropping down from his perch, “If anything it just puts quite a target on you, m’lady.”
"Without it I would not see my way." She murmured, slightly taken aback. "How else might I navigate myself safely? I am no feline, no creature of the night with incongruous vision."Â Lucy took a slight step back, unnerved by the stranger and his vague insinuations.Â
uncleaninxhisxeyes:
What is decorum amongst friends? Merely, were the two, not just that. They were sisters —- and Mina trusted Lucy, above all else, more than anyone. Easily, the hug is fell into, fingers curling about Lucy’s back, heads bowed close together. “And I you, Luce. More than anything.” They made their own rules, laid out their own path… no one told them how to be, what to say, or where to go.
“How have you been darling?” Once Mina pulls back, a tender kiss is pressed to Lucy’s forehead, drawing comfort from their close proximity. This is what made coming to London worth while.
"As well as always." She smiled up at her companion before moving to kiss each cheek. "Arthur Holmwood has been coming about, mother seems quite taken with him. I'm beginning to wonder whether his aspirations lie with my hand or hers." Lucy grinned cheekily,as she pulled one of Mina's arms through the crook of her own and began gliding down the street, intent on finding a place to continue their reunion. Anything could be said between the two- they were almost as if one person. "What of you, Miss Wilhelmina?" She tossed about her friends full name with a giggle, all in good fun. "And of Harker, too?"Â She prompted almost as an afterthought. "Your correspondence has been so sparse I feel as if I know nothing of your life."Â Lucy chided lightly, though the returning smile at the corner of her mouth stole any venom from her words. Â
