Is it enough? No. Is it something? Yes.

For most traditionally published authors whose works are still in print, 50% of the $3k per work will go to your publisher. There's also paying the lawyers.

So for my works that fall under the period in question (my latest was still stolen to train on, but not included in the time period of this lawsuit), what sounds like it should be $6k is at MOST $3k and will likely be far less due to legal fees. If I seek $2k I'll be surprised.

But I don't have the money to *not* settle and sue on my own.

Anyway. I put in extra volunteering time today because the air conditioner flooded the bathrooms and a whole floor in the main building. So some folks got the gallery tour of a lifetime because I felt bad that so much was off limits.

Anyway. Donate to your local museums so they have cash to actually update their HVAC more than once in 50+ years.
