Learning how to love yourself- Part 1
This is a topic that has been touched on plenty of times by bloggers and influencers but like most girls and women these days have avoided talking about. We live in an incredibly technology based world where girls are thrust images everyday, all day of unrealistic expectations of what we are ‘supposed’ to look like. Don’t get me wrong I am no party pooper and am rather partial to a snapchat filter or two but when do we put our phones down? When you take away the filter and look in your mirror, what do you see? Do you see beauty and joy or do you see plain jane without the flawless finish and a Joey Essex smile?
The hardest thing about being a female growing in a world where slowly everyones facial features are warping into one, our lips are too thin, our skins not tight enough and our legs aren’t tanned enough not to mention our asses don’t sit up like apple bums because we don’t have 2 hours a day too squat in the gym.🙅🏼 The hardest thing is consistent self love and that doesn’t mean leaning how to get the best angles for the gram but true self love where you know your worth and don’t compare yourself too that beautiful girl thats walks by. We are all guilty of putting out what we want everyone too see of us so that we have that self significance, its how the world is now and how we have evolved as humans in this age.
Peeling back the masks of vulnerability is intimidating and to say the least daunting. Most of our fears about being completely bare is bought on by the media. That ‘natural’ makeup you see posted in the media and as you walk by the makeup counters is not natural, that model has had a makeup artist create the affect of no makeup for three hours, ‘just a touch of mascara and some gloss’, thats purely just to sell you those get ready in 5 minutes box set and normally around christmas time 😂 and that comes from first hand experience.
