Rush hours at the Sweet Dreams Pastries shop tended to be busy, especially with Eilise handling most of the things while her employee Maddie helped out as much as she could, even sometimes taking over handing out pastries when Eilise literally had her hands full between juggling orders and making fresh malasadas which was what usually sold the most and quickest. Add a bunch of tea and coffee orders at that as well, and things could have easily gone out of hand really fast. But Eilise was satisfied with the people that came to the shop despite the competition. It meant that she’d have loyal customers, and some of them were there on a daily basis.
Once such individual was the man that came up next in line. Eilise didn’t know his name, but she’d seen him around a few times, usually getting coffee, though Maddie handled that most of the time instead of her. Well. considering the rush hour, both girls were all over the place and Eilise ended up being the one to serve him that morning. “Good morning, what can I get-----?”
She was interrupted by the entrance door slamming shut which was followed by a few gun shots. Several women in the shop screamed, Maddie dropped the order she held in surprise while Eilise froze on the spot, eyes glued to the man holding the gun, his face covered in a mask. Oh, this wasn’t good.
“Alright everybody, do as you’re told and maybe nobody leaves this place in a bag.” The robber said as he pushed his way through to the counter where Eilise stood, pushing Danny out of the way as well. “I need everybody to pass all of their valuables to the front immediately. Valets, watches, jewelry, cell phones. Chop chop! And you, pretty, empty that cash register in this bag.”
