I'm not ashamed to be white,

The whole 'we're not apologizing for being white anymore' bs is such a self-own. I mean seriously, that implies they have a reason to be ashamed. And let's be real, anyone who says that is a malignant bigot who hates themselves as much as they hate people not like them and should be ashamed of themselves. So let's break down what they want, which is not to talk about the bad things white people in this country have done/are doing. Because they're confusing 'not being a whiny bitch when the receipts come in' with 'ashamed of being white'.

Acknowledging systemic racism is not 'ashamed to be white'. It is acknowledging that not being white in the Western world makes their lives more difficult. Because it's true. Pointing out the genocide of the Native Americans, is not 'ashamed to be white'. It is acknowledging the system destruction of the cultures of the people who lived here before Columbus got lost on his way to India. On scale never seen before. Also, because it's true. See a pattern here?

Being against Israel's apartheid government and genocide against the Palestinians is not 'ashamed of being white'. Nor is it 'antisemitic'. They are doing the same thing to Palestinians that the Nazis did to the Jews of Europe. It was not okay then, it is not okay now.

Supporting BLM is not 'being ashamed of being white'. It is using your privilege to lift up people who have been traditionally unheard in the Western world.

And now I am gonna call out the 'I didn't realize that was racist' group I used be a member of and still stumble into from time to time because it is so pervasive in American culture it really does feel like it's all about racism. 'Colorblindness' is not anti-racist. Colorblindness ignores the systemic challenges people who are not white face and the history of outright bigotry against them. Not seeing color implies race doesn't affect their lives directly through no fault of their own. There's nothing wrong with someone's race not mattering to you. That's good. But it matters to the people in power and the systems they implement. So you cannot be colorblind when dealing with those systems.

Also, meritocracy is a myth the powerful and wealthy use to shield themselves from accountability for hoarding all the resources. They decide what is 'merit' and I assure you, race is a large factor. That's why Congress is full of mediocre white people and a handful of exceptional people of color. It's a feature, not a bug to them.

The real war is class war and white people need to realize unless there's six zeros in their bank account, they are not on the side of the rich folks. They are easily led pawns who will open their wallets to anyone who will let them look down on somebody else.

So not only is this movement wrong, it's a pawn of the rich oligarchs who blame immigrants and brown people for everything to distract away from the way they've been siphoning money and power away from the middle class for decades.

This has been a public service announcement.

The moment capitalists came up with the subscription model, the purpose of advertising stopped being for simply making people aware of a product they might want to buy. Now they exist to be irritating. They want you to go "Ugh, fine! These ads are way too annoying! Ill pay you to stop advertising to me!"

The enshitification of nearly every aspect of daily life by these ads is intentional. I mean this with total sincerity: ads have intentionally become an insult to life itself.
