My unpopular Dexter opinion is that season five of Dexter is good actually and it gets a lot of flak for being “unwatchable” because, for the very first time, we see our favorite butcher come apart at the seams. 

Season five is when the show shifts from darkly humorous to just plain grim (how could it not, after Rita’s death?) and it begins to ask very hard questions about the effect Dexter has on everyone in his life. It is also cathartic because he bonds with someone else who has been through very violent and traumatic things. Someone he doesn’t have to hide from. It is all about grief and how we heal. Also, Julia Stiles, bro. 

Season five is good. I love season five with a passion. I am a season five advocate. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Suicide is Gen Z's second-leading cause of death, and it's a worse epidemic than anything millennials faced at that age

Young people are dying from suicide at record rates, with the CDC noting a 56% increase among Gen Z between 2007 and 2017.

The suicide rate for people aged 10 to 24 increased by 56% between 2007 to 2017, according to new data from the CDC.

For children aged 10 to 14, the suicide rate tripled between 2007 to 2017 after years of decline.

Suicide had increased among millennials, but the data suggests Gen Z might be most at risk for mental illness.

Considering the number of death threats people give to each other because of fandom, shipping wars, and censorship, and the amount of cyber bullying that comes out of that, yes - that can play a large factor in suicide of people who are in fandoms.

Her name is Letitia Chai, she is Korean, and her presentation was “Acting in Public: Performance in Everyday Life”.

Her demonstration drew two dozen supporters. She was wearing a modest shirt and some cut-off shorts (which we can’t see in the images here because they’re mostly hidden by her laptop, exacerbating the need for retort against her professor’s disagreement with them). When her professor also asked what Chai’s mother would think of her attire, she informed him that she’s a gender and sexuality professor.

I mean if she was just sitting in class and her professor told her that her shorts were a problem, her being upset would be understandable. However, this is her senior thesis and she is giving a presentation. How you dress says a lot about how you are presenting yourself. Shorts like that say casual and that isn’t the vibe that you want to be giving off when presenting your college thesis. She should have worn something more professional and none of this would have mattered. She could have worn a dress and as long as she kept it professional it would have been fine. This isn’t sexist, she just didn’t dress for the right dress code.

Jenna Marbles has this series on her channel where she reacts to memes of herself that fans have made and she doesn’t make any money off them she does it to show her appreciation to her fans who make them because she knows they don’t make any money either also there’s someone in Russia that reuploads her videos in full and they dub them over in Russian and not only does Jenna know about this she thinks it’s cool that someone would take the time to do that and she refuses to copyright any of them and she is very wary of making any merch because the last company that she tried to work with straight up stole one of her fan’s artwork and now she doesn’t trust any merch company and I think that’s so awesome who’s like that on YouTube anymore? someone that is aware that the people who watch their videos are the reason they have been successful and who still makes content to entertain those people not just get their money brava

You realise this is something you could to without axing algebra, right? I know a the way a lot of us learn this stuff isn’t enjoyable, but that doesn’t mean the material isn’t important. Sure, you might not use algebra in your future career, but learning things that give you problem solving skills is actually kind of important for the developing brain. This is the same reason why music and art is so important in school even if the vast majority of students won’t have a career in the arts. They help you build your creativity, focus, cooperation, and motor skills.

School isn’t just about teaching you important information, it’s about teaching you thinking skills to help you work with information.
