I wrote another short(ish) TADC fic to go with Here in the Garden. This one was inspired by a thing Goose said, that Caine tried to 'fix Scratch's brain and make him happy.'

I feel like I haven't written anything for ages and then TADC got into my brain and forced me to hammer out two of probably the best things I've ever written, or at least the most carefully or halfway capably put togather. It's been a lot of fun, I hope theyr'e as fun to read.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: The Amazing Digital Circus (Web Series)

A little while after the Last Act, Pomni comes up with an idea to brighten Ragatha’s day. Getting Caine involved may or may not turn out to be a horrible mistake.

In which Pomni doesn’t always think stuff through, Ragatha deserves nice things, and the problem isn’t inspiring Caine to try, it’s getting him to stop.

Quiet Time

There is a specific reason behind this composition.

While the vertical format is great for smartphone screens, I also wanted to use negative space to create a distinct mood.

I believe that negative space can express a character's inner emotions. In this piece, the character is small, and the background takes up about 80% of the canvas. By drawing the character so small, I can evoke a sense of loneliness and solitude.

Another key point is the placement of the cloud shadows. I intentionally kept Caine out of the shadow. You can see the boundary between the light and the cloud shadow. I used this high contrast to make the character stand out and emphasize their presence.

Finally, let us look at Caine's angle. I purposely hid Caine's face and positioned them to show their back. If their expression were visible, this artwork would probably feel cute rather than lonely. I enjoy drawing figures from angles where you cannot see their faces. This approach leaves room for viewers to wonder what the character is thinking.

You know if Pomni or another circus character was a tiny Jax would torture them. There is no doubt in my mind.

It's a bit dark, but I like the idea of a whump fic where the tiny has been enduring Jax's cruelty for some time. The others have tried to intervene but they are afraid of Jax too. Maybe Zooble usually keeps the tiny safe because they don't put up with shit from Jax. Caine is unaware of the dysfunction and interpersonal problems in his group of humans, but he can't ignore it much longer after walking in on a particularly heinous torture session- Jax having found an opportunity to separate the tiny from Zooble.

The tiny is traumatized and Caine, for the first time, realizes that he can't force a solution. Maybe Zooble finally gets through to him when the tiny just seems to be getting worse. I'm always a sucker for a scene where the comforting character gets angry or uses devastating force in front of the tiny and scares them so badly it causes progress to backtrack. I picture Caine as a very gentle soul in this, probably only getting angry at his repeated failure to fix things and maybe at Jax for bringing so much misery to the circus. I also love me some realization of feelings on Caine's part and some awkward romantic feelings for both Caine and the tiny.

I love tadc g/t stuff with a giant!Caine and a tiny!Pomni !!! It's just!!!!! VERY MUCH MY JAM!!!! The little head scritch he gives her after manhandling her? *chefs kiss* I want him big and sorry.

I've also seen stuff people have written for a tiny!player who joins the circus and I LOVE it. Seeing as Caine's program sort of messes up people's body/mind files and gives them bodies that reflect their insecurities or struggles I'm drawn to the idea of someone showing up as a tiny, reflecting their issues with over-stimulation- feeling like the world is too big, too loud, too bright, too chaotic and ending up in this tiny body where the environment is a bit of an onslaught and the ringmaster has to learn some chill.

Is there a ship name for one sided Caine/Zooble? Because whatever that is I am down for it. I love the idea of Caine absolutely thinking he is in love with Zooble and 100% not understanding why they can't/don't return the sentiment. Also the idea of having what is essentially GOD want you in some capacity is terrifying to say the least. Even hotter worse if he's slowly going off the deep end.

I have not been looking around at anything in the fandom so it's likely that my TADC theories are ones people have already come up with, but this is meant to be more of a record on what my thoughts are before going and seeing the final episode. My theories are below the cut.

So, the first theory that I had since like episode 3 was that it's possible that the humans can't wake up because what they are is just a copy of a personality/person. It seems more likely to me that the humans who put on the headset, took off the headset and walked away essentially leaving a digital ghost of themselves behind. If that's the case though it means no one can escape which is not the best. What reinforces this idea to me though is that when Caine is messing with them via Able he brings up ideas like stasis pods and stuff, then when Pomni goes to talk to Kinger about them waking up and escaping he seems confused. He steps out into the light before he can say anything useful, but I think Kinger would have known right away that none of what Able was saying made sense if they were just digital copies of people and can't actually wake up.

My second theory is that Caine is somehow luring humans to the digital circus. I don't know how, but when Ragatha shows up he acts more like someone who has had an experiment proven- someone who was testing something and is thrilled with the results. I find it interesting though that Ragatha looks around and says 'guys?'. Who was she with? What incentive did they have to trap her, or was it not something they expected to happen either? Need more info.

I think this is less a theory and basically spelled out, but it seems clear to me that Caine causes people to abstract when he messes too much with their minds and if that is the case it means that Jax isn't responsible for what happened to Ribbit and Kaufmo. I think Caine might not MEAN to abstract people, but when they get too close to certain truths he always ends up messing with them too much and corrupting their files.

I have a theory that Gangle was actually hit by a truck in real life. When Gangle is tortured by Caine he is basically throwing her words back at her: 'you never let us think outside the box'. So he has her trapped by boxes, only for her to then get run over by a truck, the same one that struck her after she broke free from the restaurant and embraced the feeling of freedom. I also think this is why she is in ribbons. It's possible that Gangle was so messed up from getting hit by the truck, so mangled, physically and mentally, that putting her mind or at least making a copy of it to put in the circus was seen as some way of preserving her.

Another theory that is probably also just laid out in the show- I think Pomni was out urbexing when she found the circus. But that also implies that the CandA building is abandoned and, if we can believe the original glimpse we get of the computer Pomni saw in episode 1 then we can assume that it's been abandoned for a long time. Again, if Caine is luring people there, then how is he doing that? I doubt Ragatha, Jax, and Zooble had any reason to be there. Well, except Zooble does say they used to urbex as well. Hard to know.

Kinger can probably speak Japanese. Anyway, that's all I've got. I haven't freeze framed much of anything or gone really poking around. I am sure there are a lot of background things that I am oblivious to.
