what up, it’s almost been a year since the 3A version of this post and more than a year since the S1-S2 version. so with no thanks to freeform, netflix, and constantin, here are the final numbers and examples of when magnus uses ‘alec’ versus ‘alexander’. the same contextual cues still hold up! magnus only uses ‘alexander’ when talking directly to alec. magnus still primarily uses ‘alec’ when talking about him to other people or when a situation is tense between them.

alexander count in 3B: 16 alexander total: 52 + 16 = 68 alec count in 3B: 12 alec total for the series: 35 + 12 = 47 how many times magnus has said some variant of alec’s name in the series: 115
