From a parody page of SyFy execs on Facebook. They also made a similar pic, “Sharkalanche: Snow is frozen water, the science is sound!"

A picture by artist Thomas Kinkade, made after the 9-11 attacks. No post of my own today, just a way to remember the day.
For those from other countries that died, I include you in this tribute. You were on American soil, that flag honors you as well.
Never forget.
I’ve told my story before, but here I will tell it again, briefly. I had to work that day, but not until 11am. So I was still sleeping when the first tower hit, and was only barely awake for the second one because a friend called me. I got ready for work in front of the tv that day, as much as I could.
I worked at a gas station. Because of the fact that it was a terror attack, many stations feared shortages and raised their prices. My boss did, but only a little bit, and only to try to deter some of the traffic. It didn’t help. We were busier that day than any day before or since. People were scared. Even with the extra traffic, people were quiet when they’d come in, so we could hear the news on the radio.
A coworker had her birthday that day. She was a mess, and another coworker ended up coming in and we sent her home. Every year I wonder how she does this day.
I did not know anyone there, I did not lose anyone. But that doesn’t mean I do not feel the tragedy of the day. Thousands killed for no reason. The bravery shown by so many people is still inspiring to me. I cannot imagine what those people and the families of those lost must go through, but they will always be in my thoughts.

Hey, this looks familiar.
Another shot of Littlefield Lake, through some shoreline reeds, with my uncle's old fishing boat on the right.
Taken on Littlefield lake in Farwell, Michigan on July 4, 2012. I was just trying to get the lily pads, but I love how the final picture came out with the trees reflecting in the water.
Have a wonderful, fantastic, fun, not-too-hot, safe day to my fellow Americans! Be careful with the fireworks in this drought, please don't drive if you've been drinking, and drink plenty of water!
Most of all, remember what today is about. Thank any soldiers you know, take a moment to remember all those who have given their lives throughout history fighting for our great country, and remember that though our government may be filled with morons (of all political affiliation), we still live in the greatest country there is!
