Fire Dragon is open at Lagoon!

I was going through some older posts on Lagoon Fans when I came across this photo, and I realized that Lagoon put Nutcracker in an amazing spot. No wonder they themed it partially to the Biergarten. This is an amazing view.

I love what Lagoon continues to do to improve the park every year. I think Nutcracker is a great addition to the park.

Large Helmet in Pioneer Village

I got to thinking that I haven't hopped on LagoonFans.com for a while to see what fun Lagoon discussion is going on there, so I went and checked it out. Stumbled across a post that had a photo of a large helmet that Lagoon has placed behind Steamworx. I had to share.

Colossus Testing

I haven't been to Lagoon this year due to health issues, so most of what I share is what I find online or hear from other people. Apparently, Colossus the Fire Dragon hasn't opened yet this year. According to a post by Utah Coaster Enthusiasts, Lagoon installed a new control system on the coaster and is now cycling trains to make sure the system is working as intended.

Once Lagoon cycles enough trains to ensure everything is operational, the coaster will open. Lagoon sets some pretty high testing windows for themselves, so expect to see it running trains for a while before we see it actually open.

Now this is cool. Lagoon opened up Carousel Candy and Peacock Parlour last year. They had a space between the two shops that had stairs and an elevator. They also had the words "The Atrium" on the doors leading into this area. We weren't sure what it would be at the time.

Lagoon has revealed what is on the upper floors this year: two social clubs for adults of drinking age and above.

NEW AT LAGOON! The Atrium, featuring: Carousel Club & Flirty Birdie For adults 21 and older only. Open daily at 12pm. The two social clubs will offer a variety mocktails, cocktails and delicious small bites unlike any other offerings on the park. Soft Opening Entrance Cover: $10 per person, $15 for two! The Atrium is located in between Carousel Candy and Peacock Parlour, just east of the splash pad. The social clubs are on the 2nd floor. Elevator access is available.

The Old Jet Star 2 Area

Utah Coaster Enthusiasts shared the below image of the former home of Jet Star 2. They have cleared pretty much everything out. It kind of makes me sad seeing it. Jet Star 2 was my favorite coaster at the park. It was the first roller coaster I ever operated as a ride operator for Lagoon, and I had a lot of great experiences on the ride.
