Helicopter patrolling on April 17, 2014, from 3am - 6am.
FAA’s Low Aircraft “Complaint System” Count is Highly Inaccurate
My records alone show at least 30 complaints a week for these areas, per week. WTF is the FAA doing with all the data they’re receiving? They’re clearly not publishing it.
Who is buzzing you today, LA? 11-3-1015.
It’s National Helicopter Service & Engineering Co. out of Encino.
Fire the FAA
After decades of residents asking for help and relief from flat out abusive helicopter traffic, Congressman Adam Schiff FINALLY passes a bill (hr3547) in 2014 that calls for regulation. Los Angelinos have finally won legislation after the vulture helicopter industry and complacent FAA ignored residents demands on relief for decades. After passing the bill Rep Schiff told the FAA he will give them time to develop a map for regulation. It’s come to the end of that grace period and this is the map the FAA has provided.
It’s clear there are people in that tax paid regulatory office that need to find themselves a tent and some cardboard and go live in Skid Row after they get fired from jobs they don’t deserve. It’s time to clean house and fire as many people in the FAA as it takes to get the LAFSDO working without being fat and corrupt.
I hate to say it but maybe the schiester Ronald Reagan was right. The regulatory boards need housecleaning every now and then.
Despite the fact that a Congressman has developed a law and had it passed about low air traffic in Los Angeles, this is what the FAA deems OK for Los Angeles residents to put up with on a Sunday night at 9pm.
DTLA before 9am...
After taking down webtracker for 7-days just for the DTLA and Central L.A. area, the FAA put it back up. And it didn’t go down without intense suspicion and complaint. A lot of activists were pissed off, to put it honestly. The FAA ignores the law of HR3547 to regulate traffic, they tell the city they’ll at least provide a monitoring site, and they try to piss out on that promise? Not on my tax dollar.
ANYWAY. Today is the first day webtracker is back up and look at all these cowards destroying DTLA before 9am. They all know they’re doing wrong, otherwise they’d grow a pair and put their N tail numbers up.
Is the FAA Helping LAPD and Tour/Film Helicopters Vanish From Radar Over High “Low-Air-Traffic” Neighborhoods?
This is the third day DTLA has been put into a black hole of information from the radar. Who made the call?
It’s 12:01PM and another LAPD helicopter makes three loud and low passovers, overhead. He was just here two-hours ago. The neighborhood is bright and peaceful. People are going about their Saturdays. There’s no calls for the police officers on the radios yet LAPD exhibit this behavior pretty much every single hour throughout the day and night, all the time. They’re so notorious in their offensive flying they’ve actually been ordered by Congressman Adam Schiff to stop the abusive flights.
To be clear - LAPD gets 1 billion dollars every year. They own more helicopters than any police department in the country. The mayor keeps complaining how the city has no money for the homeless or schools but LAPD gets 1 billion dollars annually that pays for keeping 20 helicopters over residential neighborhoods who never called for them. At best, LAPD’s constant warrantless air searches and mistreatment of Los Angeles neighborhoods is highly unconstitutional. At worst - LAPD are draining a substantial amount of money the city could use on better goals than shooting weaponless people dead and behaving like bullies in the air.
Back to the recent LAPD flyover. We just had a cop overhead two-hours ago and now he’s back. I’m sure it’s the same cop but the police have taken to hiding their N tail numbers from the radar since LA Weekly and LA Times published a story telling Angelinos how to look them up via radar and complain. A year ago I could tell you if it was the same cop. Now all I can do is guess. From my own three-years of research into LAPD Air Division’s behavior, I am sure it’s the same cop.
On a sideline, throughout the rumor mill some of my fellow LAPD helicopter watchers - (through their own connections) - are suspicious some of the more aggressive LAPD helicopter pilots are on meth or cocaine. I wouldn’t be shocked if the more savage and malicious pilots were tweaking. Hearsay or not - their exhibited behavior leaves the theory plausible.
So the LAPD pilot overhead is hiding on radar but he’s definitely overhead. He's very low, very loud, and shaking the windows and floors of this DTLA apartment. And again, checking the scanners shows his mission was very pointless. All this is normal. What isn’t normal is the pilot is clearly hiding from radar in a very intentional way.
This is the third day LAPD and even tour/film copters are intentionally disappearing from radar over DTLA. For the first time ever, after watching the Los Angeles radar for two-years, and studying L.A.’s low-air-traffic problem for three-years, I am seeing helicopter pilots intentionally hiding over the DTLA area. This intentional behavior has to be a response to the complaints of their abusive flights over DTLA. The complaints from DTLA are a lot more aggressive than elsewhere in the city due to yours truly. But I am only reiterating what everyone in this city is thinking. As of recent low-air-traffic pilots specifically hide over this area and show up in mid-city and elsewhere. And no, altitude has nothing to do with this. If you look at other posts on this blog you’ll see them flying as low as 50 feet overhead on the radar. No one accidentally “drops off radar.”
Over the years LAPD and tour/film pilots took to hiding their tail numbers. They know the public are watching them and disapprove of their abusive treatment of Los Angeles so they hide who they are so it’s harder to complain about them. As of three days ago they're completely ghosting from the radar.
Something is going on.
What I don't know, and aim to find out, is if these pilots are being aided by the local FSDO/FAA to intentionally hide off radar. The FAA has been commanded by law to regulate low-air-traffic in Los Angeles County. They have ignored the law since it was established in January 2014. The have tried to act like they were working on the problem by telling the newspapers to publish the radar reporting website a year ago. The media and FAA acted like the site was newly implemented for the public to access. It was not new. The story was a ruse.
So are pilots hiding from radar with the help of a do-nothing FAA?
I would say yes and prove me wrong by actually doing what the law tells you to do, FAA.
When taxpayers tell the FAA and pilots to stop abusing the air above their neighborhoods - intentionally hiding your tail number and ghosting yourself off the radar is not the way to respond to the calls to end abuse. Regulation and better treatment of the neighborhood's on the FAA, LAPD, and tour/film pilot's part is the proper response.
What wrong with this picture?
Los Angeles looks like she’s crawling with lice at 10:30am on November 5th. Too much low and unregulated air-traffic.
A dbag private jet tightly circling DTLA at a very very low level. It’s actually flying lower than the tallest building in DTLA. U.S. Bank is 1,018 ft tall. This piece of shit is flying at 1,000 ft. Yes you definitely heard him abuse the are very hard. And ask the FAA how the fuck an airplane was allowed to do this... you won’t hear back as the top brass collects their paycheck and ignores Congressman’s HR3547.
Corruption. Hayseeds from Omaha, Nebraska - Sound Trak, Inc.
A nooner lunch break to abuse DTLA for the lulz brought to you by the one and only “2010 Leasing Group” - Star Helicopters. They always rent to the whitest male tourists, ever. Enjoy the shattered peace!
More pilots ignoring the L.A. citizen’s right to not have to live in a low air traffic amusement park. Skycore Camera Shipone LLC.
This was from an abusive flight around 5pm on October 28th, 2015.
The National Helicopter Service & Engineering Co. out of Encino, CA using DTLA as their personal playground.
Whose that asshole flying low and rotor chopping homes in downtown LA? It’s Wells Fargo and their white privilege. Bankers being bitches - as per usual.
This is a long waited update. I have been collecting data the whole time. I will update the data. I am coming to a close of data collection though and moving into sending it to the right authority. It’s probably 50 gigs of data, though - and I have other jobs so this is a slowing down on posts. I am always watching, though.
Self incriminating by the very own LAPD of using militarization tactics on residential. Added bonus of rank and file shills begging to sign up for the constitutional desecration.
Fucking tourists.
Well this is fun.
One of LAPD's 18+ helo for sale in a tiny package? Mattel's making police militarization a norm for our children.
I just want to know how much LAPD makes off the use of their brand? What are us taxpayers not being let on to?
