@lailanis-blog1
âAh, sorry about that,â Carlotta replied a little timidly, âI was mostly focused on my mascara. God, I honestly thought Iâd never say that out loud, ever, but this whole cameras-round-the-clock thing changes stuff, doesnât it?â she laughed softly. Looking over at the boxes, the person who was carrying them told them that it was stuff that some of the royals had ordered online, and they were delivering it to their rooms before taking the boxes and walking off with a nod. âWoah, did someone buy rocks from eBay or something?â she wondered out loud as she watched the person walk away. âI could never do that,â she muttered in afterthought.
âyouâre good! honestly, iâd be too focused on my mascara to even notice two people about to collide, so youâre fined.â she smiled. âyour mascara looks poppinâ, by the way, so being focus on it paid off.â lailani complimented the princess. âthe cameras-round-the-clock thing definitely changes things, though. like, you think it wont change you and itâll be normal, but soon enough youâre saying and doing things just because of the cameras. itâs so weird.â she nodded in agreement. hearing that it was packages for the other royals, lailani hoped nothing got damaged during the fall. âif not rocks, then probably diamonds and other precious gems and jewels, probably.â she shrugged. âsame! my arm gets tired holding my phone up for a selfie or stirring batter for too long. how that person managed to carry five heavy boxes at once iâll never understand.âÂ
oliver happily volunteered half of the blanket to lailani, âsharing is caringâŠâ oliver trailed off, knowing how cheesy he sounded. oliver grinned when she said âbelow blanketsâ, thinking it was really clever. âiâm feeling some comedy, or maybe horror. or⊠maybe thriller.â oliver said, not being able to make up his mind. âdo you have a preference?â
smiling when he gave her half of the blanket, lailani wrapped it over her body and snuggled into the blanket to get comfy. laughing softly at his cheesy saying, lailani got a hold of the remote and opened netflix. âalright, barney,â she said and started looking through their options. âwe can do a mix of all three if you wanted? the scary movie movie series is a thing, so we can watch those? Itâs a mix of all three and itâll even be a marathon.â she explained. âalthough, theyâre not that scary and iâm not really sure if theyâre even considered thrillers, but i know theyâre definitely comedies.â Â
â which one do i want to hear, or which one did i mean ? â lukas mocked, â because both questions are very different and both hold very different answers. â he continued, â if youâre asking the former; i never said i wanted to hear either. â he grinned nonchalantly, â but if itâs the latter, then i meant  howâs your day going. â â
lailani stared at the prince with squinted eyes as he mocked her. desperately wanting to wipe off his nonchalant grin, lailani smiled at him as nicely as she could. "my day is going quite swell, actually. i'm admiring the view and i've just recently met the prince from out of the woods." she spoke. "you know him, right? he was raised to be charming, but not sincere? but he's not that charming either, so."
anja smiled at the beautiful filipina, her and lailani hadnât really talked that much but she was good friends with marco so she heard a lot about her secondhand. âoh i know! if i werenât a princess, this is what iâd be doing,â she mused. ever since she became a princess, sheâd always thought about what sheâd be if she werenât one and she always came back to that. âthey do, donât they?â she nodded, while she took another sip of her rosĂ©. âoh thank you! itâs georges hobeika! i absolutely adore his work!â
âyouâd wanna be an event planner? reallyâ she asked with genuine interest. âi feel like being an event planner would be pretty stressful. like, i know ruling a country is hard and stressful, but as a ruler you also have people on your side to help you run a country smoothly and all that, but as an event planner youâre just on your own to make sure everything runs along, you know? like, i feel like being a event planner would be a bit more stressful just because you have to do everything on your own, where as a ruler has tons of help along the way.â she rambled on. âthis is a george hobeika dress?â she asked with wide eyes, then gave the girls dress another look over. âno wonder your dress is flawless! his designs are stunning! i think there are only two dresses of his that i dont like, but everything else is a major love & A+ design.âÂ
slowly breaking away from his father and sister, his only family members able to attend the festivity, julien walked backwards still bidding a short goodbye to them. his attention was loosely on anyone but them, it wasnât a shocker that he ended up bumping shoulders with another attendant. âoh, disculpame. sorry, wasnât watching my step.â
not knowing where to go or who to talk to, lailani was wandering aimlessly around the ball room trying to find something to do or someone to talk to. there were a lot of familiar faces, but none of them sparked enough interest for her to walk up and talk to. she smiled at people here and there, occasionally waving at people that saw her from across the room. as she was walking, a person bumped her shoulder and caused her to stumble a bit. âÂĄestas bien! it happensâ she replied back with a smile. âit takes two to tango, so i shouldâve watched my step, too. and i was the one walking forward, so if anything i shouldâve seen a personâs behind walking towards my direction.â Â
anja made her way to the bar to fill up her drink of rosĂ© and maybe get something to nibble on. she wore a smile and a beautiful ball gown that made her feel like she was floating on air. even though yasmin didnât come (parties werenât her thing at all), and anja was disappointed about that, she was still excited to be at a party, in a gown, in a ballroom - she was in her element, she sat down at the stool as the bartender filled up her wineglass and she grabbed an avocado sushi roll from the platter. âthis grand ball that they put together is really something isnât it? the dinner was exquisite.âÂ
as per usual, lailani found herself near the food and alcoholic beverages at the ball. with a glass of champagne in one hand and chopsticks holding a sushi roll in the other, lailani was definitely enjoying herself. turning her attention to the small blonde that just spoken, lailani smiled and nodded her head in agreement. âfor sure! the planners really outdid themselves with this one.â she smiled and looked around to admire her beautiful surroundings. âi donât know how theyâre gonna top this one, but i wouldnât be surprised if they end up outdoing themselves again the next time around. i mean, they always do, anyways.â she laughed. âi love your dress, by the way! who are you are wearing? itâs stunning.âÂ

ânothing bothers me more then when people expect women to come to balls dressed to the tenâs but then the men can get away with wearing suits that donât fit. itâs called a TAILOR. you cannot put all this pressure on the ladies and then slack on your own appearance. â ziemlich faul meiner meinung nach.â alaric sneered with a sip from his champagne glass.
âpreach it, honey.â lailani agreed as she took a sip of her champagne. the double standards between men and women were very distinct when it came to their appearances and clothing choices. the boys were allowed to slack, but the girls wouldâve been kicked off the island if they entered a ball with even the tiniest piece of detail out of place. âwe have so much pressure to look perfect for these type of things and itâs like? iâm just tryna eat and chill, but no! i thought! i played myself!â she said sarcastically. âi have to be in fittings, makeup, and hair for five or more hours just to get ready for special events, but guys are at theirs for what? like, two to three hours? probably less? and then theyâre ready.â she complained. âyou guys are so lucky people arenât always touching, picking, and pulling at you while youâre getting ready.â she scoffed. âi love getting pampered and dolled up, but when itâs 10+ people surrounding you at once and pulling at you here and there it gets extremely irritating.âÂ
bennett rolled his eyes, but he couldnât conceal the smile that came to his lips when lailani put on her lizard show, showing him exactly what she did that made all of the lizards run to her. in reality, heâd thought the lizards were just about as afraid of her as he was. âi think the real reason they played along was because they knew theyâd be safer in your hands chasing after me than to face your wrath if they didnât listen.â bennett spoke, shrugging his shoulders as though it was fact. he really missed his childhood with lailani, sometimes he even wished they could go back. things used to be so much easier back then. âiâm not sure what half of the things you just said are, but iâm down. do you think theyâd let us go on vacation, yâknow? iâve never tried to leave the castle for that long before.â
wide eyed, lailani gave a dramatic gasp and put a hand over her chest. âdid you just say that to me?â she asked. âi would never harm a lizard! theyâre my butikis! iâd never hurt my butikis!â she stated loudly. âif anything, i wouldâve hurt you before iâd ever consider hurting my little butikis.â she huffed. this was all for the dramatics and self entertainment, but lailani wasnât about to give up her offended act and let him know that she wasnât truly offended by what he said. âi keep forgetting that theyâre not worldwide things, oops. anyways, youâll find out once we go back. by the time weâre finished, youâll definitely know the difference between a red and blue jeepney, for sure.â she said confidently, nodding her head once she finished talking. âi donât know if theyâll let us go on vacation, but maybe if we convince them? beg them? annoy them? make the viewers persuade the producers into letting us go on a vacation? i donât really know, but at least one of those options have gotta work.âÂ
Carlotta had to stifle her laughter at Lailani whining on the ground, looking dishevelled. She didnât want to be rude or anything. Tossing her makeup one side, she quickly went over to where there was Lailani and someone who she recognised as a worker in the palace, covered in boxes that seemed to be pretty heavy. âOh no, are you guys alright?â Carlotta made quick work in taking the boxes off the both of them, struggling a little since they were really heavy. After piling the boxes one side, she stuck out her hand to pull Lailani back up. âI thought my warning would help, sorry about that,â she said sheepishly.
âiâm in pain.â she groaned dramatically as the boxes were being pushed off of her. the box on her stomach was gone, letting lailani finally take in a full breath without having to struggle from the pressure the box was creating. reaching out for the hand that was being extended to her, lailani got up with the help of carlotta. âyour intentions was pure, but your warning was a bit too late.â lailani laughed, rubbing her head and brushing out her now tangled hair with her fingers. âwhat are in those boxes? rocks?â she asked, looking at the boxes. âi donât know if they were all the same weight, but major props to the person who was carrying all five of them at once because i know at least two of them were pretty heavy.âÂ
Carlottaâs wasnât exactly sure what was going on, but as she touched up her makeup in front of the mirror she noticed from the corner of her eye one person carrying five boxes one on top of the other, and another staring at their phone, both walking towards each other and seemingly unaware of their surroundings. She was sure that they were about to crash into each other. âHey! Watch out!!â
wandering around aimlessly with her head down and eyes focused on her phone, lailani jumped when she heard a voice yelling for her to watch out. while the intentions were innocent and meant to keep her from crashing with the person holding five boxes, lailani ended up losing her balance and causing the both of them to fall to the ground. as the person fell, the boxes came down with them. âwhat is in these boxes?â she groaned in pain as she laid on the floor with a box pressing against half of her stomach and one on top of her hair that was now sprawled out. âget them off. for the love of mary, please just get them off.â she whined.Â
âyou know, i am feeling particularly lazy todayâ oliver said out of no where. âthe fact that it is well below freezing outside makes me want to just sit on the couch and watch some movies.â oliver looks over with a slight smile. âare you game?â oliver slouched further into the couch wrapping himself in a blanket, hoping for a âyesâ.
âare you kidding?â she asked over dramatically. âhell fucking yeah iâm game!â lailani jumped. âif the temperature is below freezing, then catch me below blankets. now please scoot so i can wrap myself in the blanket, too.â she said, sitting down on the couch and waiting for some of the blanket to hopefully be shared with her. âwhat genre are you feeling? thriller, horror, comedy, romance, action?â
really, heâs just trying to cook some nice old tamales ( that will not taste nearly as good as his motherâs ) but he can feel eyes on his back and itâs been five minutes. he cannot keep from addressing this any longer. without turning, he removed the tamales from the steamer and placed them on a plate. Â âi know my butt looks good and these tamales smell bomb but if you want either youâre going to need to speak up.â
smelling the tamales, lailani followed the scent and found herself in the kitchen. a boyâs back was blocking the view of the tamales and she wouldâve made her presence known, but because she didnât know whose back it was, lailani stood there and starred hard, trying her best to recognize whose back it was. five minutes into starring, lailaniâs mind was still going blank. hearing his voice caught her off guard, but with his front now facing lailani, she was finally able to recognize who it was cooking the sweet smelling tamales. âjulien, prince of colombia! hey! whatcha got there? wanna share?â she asked, smiling wide and looking at the plate. âi wouldâve spoken up earlier, but i couldnât recognize you from your behind. and i thought i could tell from your butt, but turns out it looks exactly like 20 other guyâs butts that iâve seen before. âÂ
itâs not that lukas didnât make a habit out of conversing with others. in fact, he had a specific ( and painstakingly low, some might add ) quota he intended to keep to. of course, most of the time that quota worked on a per-month basis. if he was blunt, heâd claim that he just didnât enjoy people all too much. â in the words of good olâ thomas no-middle-name jefferson, â lukas leaned against a bastion of the castle, a specific favorite of his, â what did i miss ? â he paused then, as if to consider the weight of his question, â scratch that. just to let the record show, my intent was more of a chipper, â howâs your day going, pal ! â my happy demeanor doesnât always radiate off of me as plannedâif you couldnât tell already. â lukas smirked.
leaning on the opposite bastion to lukaâs, lailani was admiring the scenery in front of her. the grass was a beautiful green with vibrant flowers spread across the backyard. the palace was different from the one she had in the philippines, but the view they had here topped the one in philippinesâ by miles. âboth questions are very different and both hold very different answers, so which one do you want to hear?â she asked, turning her head from the scenery to look at the prince of austria.
âitâs definitely used more so as a nonstick coating when baking, but i think the majority of people see it as a dressing component for salads. why someone would think to use it as a substitute for vanilla is beyond me.â aislinn cringed at the sound of bland raisins, not wanting to even so much as picture such thing. the brunette was up for eating a balanced diet for the most part, but raisins had never been her favorite ââ unless they were chocolate covered. then she wouldnât mind them as much. âgood point. i guess everyone is bound to have one of those experiences, though. i mean, not everything is going to come out perfectly. especially if itâs the first time making a recipe. it just comes down to whoever is tasting the food and whether theyâre blunt or not.â the princessâs eyes widened slightly at lailaniâs words. ânot a fan of lemon flavored things? thatâs perhaps one of my top flavors ever. not even lemonade? but either way, iâm sure linda will make anything you ask for. sheâs the sweetest,â she added, her lips tugging into a smile. âplease, i bet youâre not giving yourself enough credit. with enough practice youâll become an expert in the kitchen.âÂ
lailani shrugged her shoulders. she didnât know why people would use it as a vanilla substitute either. âfor sure! like, rarely anyone starts baking like a pro their first go at a new recipe. i think having blunt people taste your food is good because theyâll tell you the un-bias truth, but only if youâre able to take a blunt opinion, you know? like, if youâre soft skinned, then maybe having a blunt person tell you their opinion wouldnât be such a good idea. you gotta be a little tough to hear one.â she said. lailani shook her head no. âi hate lemon! i mean, i love lemon flavored candy and lemonade, but if itâs a baked good and lemon flavored, then itâs a straight no from me.â she explained. since she was young, lemon had always been her least favorite baked goods flavor. she hated the taste and appearance of anything lemon related when it came to anything baked. âno, iâm serious, ais. i tried cooking without instructions once and ended up making a mix of adobo and kare kare, and those two were not a good mix. whenever i cook without instructions, i end up mixing up my recipes and combining them with other recipes, but the non-intentional combinations never end up tasting good. itâs a tragedy, honestly. truly a tragedy every single time.âÂ
âplease donât tell me you still think you can talk to lizards.â bennett grinned. sheâd been on that bit since they were children. bennett had always been scared of the scaly creatures on the beach, often running away as lailani chased him with them in her hands. she hadnât been particularly nice when they were little. âiâm 6âČ4âł, thank you very much. a very respectable height for a man.â he spoke, turning up his nose as though he was any other pompous brit. âwell thatâs certainly a development, then! she and i will have lots to talk about. if we ever get a break from here, i think iâd like to visit again. i miss the land.â
"you still think you can talk to lizards?â she repeated, offended that he even said that to her. âfor your information, i actually can talk to lizards. itâs a gift, really. i scream âAAAaaaAAAaaaaAAaaaaaaaAaAAaaAAAâ and the lizards come running my way. i communicate with them, they communicate with me. itâs real, big ben, not a figment of my imagination.â she stated with her arms crossed in front of her chest and eyebrows scrunched together. â6âČ4âł, 8âČ10âł, thatâs practically the same thing. youâre 3âł taller than a respectable height for a man, big ben.â she rolled her eyes. âface it, big ben. youâre a clock.â lailani said as she shrugged her shoulders at him. âyou should definitely visit philippines again! we should take a vacation there for a little! especially during mango season or before/after rain season.â she said excited. âiâll take you to the clubs at makati. weâll even ride a jeepney for the full experience! itâll even be a blue jeepney!â
