The Woodcutter and the Hamadryad Aigeiros. Oil on Canvas (1870) French academic painter Γmile Bin (1825β1897) created this scene for the Paris Salon of 1870. The subject comes from Greek mythology. A hamadryad is a tree nymph physically bound to her specific tree, destined to die if it is destroyed.
