Okay, I’ve explained this three times but never publicly, so I have this headcanon where Cobs takes someone’s soul to make his creations feel alive, however he wanted to take the soul of a young kid so he did just that, but that exact young kid was Mizuki Akiyama who doubted herself and Cobs made that doubt much stronger by not caring for his own creation who he named Mephone 4, cause to him, he was only product of Meeple.

Mephone4 was very creative, but every time when he showed his creations to Cobs, Cobs wasn’t impressed or would shout at him.

Quickly he took Mepad and they both ran away, not wanting to remember his past, he resets his memories and when he wakes up, he creates a show however when he tries to create contestants, they’re all just walking stereotypes with no thoughts or feelings.

So when he figures out that he can open other dimensions, he puts his hand and kidnaps people to steal their souls in order to make his contestants feel alive.

After that, he erases their memories and comes up with a fake past for them so they won’t treat him like a God.

After coming up with the name, inanimate insanity he starts the auditions but only accepts his creations, but one day Box came to audition and saw a huge line of objects similar to her making her think that she’s not good enough so she ran away, but then she fell into a river, another object told Mephone about this so he tries to save her, but it’s no use. She’s gone forever.

Mephone tries to brush it off by deleting all of the contestants, but that traumatic incident will come back to haunt him.

Mephone tries over and over to create the perfect cast of contestants and succeeds then the production of season one of inanimate insanity begins.
