i’m lake. my pronouns are they/them. i’m 23, white, agender & bisexual.

heya! i’ve been vaguely into shifting for almost a year now but didn’t really get into it until recently. i’ve been a sporadic lucid dreamer my entire life; my method of choice is the lucid dreaming method.

haven’t fully shifted yet but i’ve mini shifted and half shifted multiple times (not to any of my DRs). the longest was about five or so minutes in hogwarts.

all of my DRs are set in comfort medias! i have a main DR i’m going to shift to the most after i get the hang of it. my plan is to shift to DRs i’m less drilled into so i can get used to it first and foremost. my focus on shifting rn is just to stay chill & have fun.

anyway BESTIES I HAVE NEWS! i did a successful shift for longer than a couple minutes a couple days ago. it was not to any of my drs (it was to glee. bye) and i was only there for 2 1/2 days BUT W/E STILL I'M COUNTING IT. that's a win in my book folks

irt is jst shorthand for “in regards to,” so irt shifting is just an abbreviation for the phrase “in regards to shifting”. it’s quicker to type irt than the whole thing

Most people who think shifting is lucid dreaming haven’t done either and it’s painfully obvious.

I always talk about doing the Lucid Dreaming Method so just to make it ABUNDANTLY clear: lucid dreaming is NOT the same as shifting

Lucid Dreaming is a tool/“gateway” I use IN ORDER TO shift.

You can’t pass a reality check in a lucid dream.

You CAN pass a reality check when shifting.

You can pass a reality check in a lucid dream! I’ve had lucid dreams where I’ve passed certain reality checks and then failed others — that’s why it’s important to do multiple reality checks rather than just one

But yes, fully agree^ shifting and lucid dreaming both feel and are extremely different

#another thing ive seen ppl say is you can’t feel pain or have your senses in lucid dreams which is also untrue #as it varies from dream to dream and person to person #like ive had lucid dreams where I can feel and be in pain but not taste anything #and one where I could taste but not see things #this is turning into a lucid dream tangent LOL anyway yes fully agree however you have the ability to pass reality checks in lucid dreams
