this outfit is so Liz core like I am not even kidding i needed a minute
I love F being so empathetic, and understanding things no one else does. Like F is the only one who understood that MC joining an already established team was difficult
Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):
“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.
“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.
“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.
“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”
“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”
“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.
And!
“If you’re breaking dialogue up with an action tag”—she waves her hands back and forth—”the dashes go outside the quotation marks.”

“I have buried you in every place I’ve been. You keep ending up in my shaking hands.”

It’s been a while since I did anything Wayhaven , so I just did a redraw of a piece I did WAY back in 2020 😂 Gosh I need to reread it again soon, I swear
The 2020 piece BTW 😂:

You chew slowly on the rice crackers you brought for your lunch break, the crunch of the delightful yet questionable human-made concoction echoing in your ears, the only sound besides the wall clock ticking. You wipe your hands on your pants to get rid of the crumbs and turn to face the tall, sorry vampire sitting across from you in front of your desk. To his credit, he looks quite apologetic, shooting you his most genuine yet sheepish smile, his hand running through his perfectly coiffed hair, his tall, lean figure struggling to fit in the small wooden chair. To his demerit, this is the fifth time this week that you have had to reset his password. He expects you to remember his password.
"I really am sorry, truly. But this blasted thing asked to see my fingers. Surely, that is not something a security system would require?" he questions, waving his hands in confusion. You swear you see him look down at his phone as if the little black box personally offended him and his bloodline. You sigh as you begin typing away on your keyboard, not looking up from your screen as you answer him.
"It asked for your fingerprint, Agent Sewell. And yes, asking to see your fingers would be creepy, which is why it didn't." You make sure he knows you do not find this amusing, not in the slightest.
"How on earth would it gain my fingerprints? It does not expect me to photograph them, surely?"
My name is Adham, and before the war, I lived a simple but happy life. I worked as a driver with my own car, earning an honest living by taking people where they needed to go. It wasn't a luxurious life, but it was enough. I was proud that I could provide for myself and look toward the future with hope.
Shortly before the war began, I got married. My wife and I dreamed of building a peaceful life together, but those dreams were shattered almost overnight.

The war took everything from us. Our home was destroyed, and the car that was my only source of income was lost. In a matter of days, I went from being able to support my family to having nothing.
Today, my wife and I live in a tent. Even the small piece of land where our tent stands is not free, and the landowner asks us to pay rent every month. We struggle every day to find food, clean water, and the basic necessities of life.
My name is Adham, and before the war, I lived a simple but happy life. I worked as a driver with my own car, earning an honest living by tak
As if losing everything wasn't enough, I was seriously injured during the war. A bullet struck my chest, and it still remains inside my body. I need surgery to remove it, but the operation costs far more than I could ever afford. Every day I live with pain and uncertainty, knowing that I cannot pay for the treatment I need.
I also had a fundraising campaign in the past, but unfortunately, I never received the support that was collected for me because I was deceived by the person managing the campaign. After that painful experience, I am now searching for a trustworthy person who can help me create and manage a new fundraising campaign so I can finally receive the support my family urgently needs.
I am asking for your help with humility and hope. Whether you can help by creating a fundraiser, donating, or simply sharing my story, your support could truly change our lives. Your kindness will help us cover our basic living expenses, pay the rent for the land where our tent stands, buy food and other essentials, and, most importantly, give me a chance to receive the surgery I desperately need.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story and for standing with my family during the hardest time of our lives. Your kindness gives us hope that we are not alone.
No donation is too small. If you are unable to donate, sharing my story or helping me find someone who can safely organize a fundraising campaign would mean the world to us.
in my head you're alive and we sit down for dinner and talk it all out
