I like to imagine Mom Lalonde as an extremely clingy alcoholic. Sometimes, she bursts into Rose's room uninvited, lays down next to her on the bed, and starts telling her how pretty she is and how she wishes Rose would spend a little more time with her. She reaches out in an attempt to touch Rose and pull her close but when Rose scoots away, she immediately starts pouting and whining, which slowly turns into her guilt-tripping Rose, telling her that if she doesn't let her hold her, she doesn't really love her. Rose doesn't feel bad; she just feels uncomfortable and wants the whole interaction to end. So she allows her mother to embrace her and rub her body until she feels ready to leave.

I've been thinking of jade harley a lot today and she just makes me so unbelievably sad

not enough people understand that she was isolated basically all of her life and her human interaction was pretty much limited to dave, john, and rose. So of course shes not gonna understand how to keep a stable relationship as an adult?
