if i had a nickel for every time i became involved in fandom for media containing a violent contact sport, a japanese guy who takes it way too seriously, a blond love interest with a dead mother, and a relationship that none of the other characters understand, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice...

all the chaos around Heated Rivalry (which I fully a part of) and hockey the last couple months has reminded me of how my grandfather has me trained so that anytime I don’t know the answer to a question about hockey (which let’s be honest is always) I just immediately say ‘Wayne Gretzky’. Years of slightly outdated trivia games were 50-75% of the time during sports questions if you just said his name you would probably get question right.

I plan to continue this way of playing trivia games even if it may no longer be accurate (idk I know nothing about sports).

Moral of the story I am obsessed with Heated Rivalry, always answer with Wayne Gretzky during trivia, and don’t trust me because I only ever watched hockey while visiting my grandparents and on Boxing Day at my Great Uncles. Oh and apparently my family supports Montreal (or I assume based on years of listening to my grandfather talk)
