Challenge!
Compliment somebody on their hair. strike up a conversation about it and tell me what happened!
Relationship tip #1- Go for it
It can be be nerve-racking to pursue a relationship with someone. There are all kinds of ways to do it, but the main thing to remember is that its just a person talking to another person. Society likes to tell us that the guy is supposed to move first in a hetero pairing. This is supposed to show that the guy know how to take charge, and don’t get me wrong, it can show confidence. But dumb romance tropes haven’t caught up to non-hetero relationships quite yet.
No matter who you are, you can make the first move. And that starts by knowing that if a person isn’t making a move, it doesn’t mean they aren’t into you.
You can muster the courage! You could be a conversation away from a fulfilling relationship.
Art tip #3 -The elements of Art
The elements of art are the building blocks of every artistic piece. They include line, space, color, shape, texture, form, and value.
I'll give you a quick run down of each, then do a post about each specifically.
Line: The sweet caress of an affectionate pencil across the waiting cheek of a paper. Their star-crossed romance can be simple or complex, or even imagined, so each drawing is like a soap opera.
Space: Has nothing to do with UFO's. Space is an area. Usually people are talking about an open area. Like the space between politicians promises and their intentions.
Color: You gonna make me get technical? Color in art is frequencies of light fairies dancing across your page. Depending on what jig they dance, your piece can look dramatically different.
Shape: A shape is a closed line. Not like when you show up to the movies when they're shutting down for the night. It's when a line connects with itself, or at least looks like it does.
Texture: The way something feels. Or how it looks like it feels. Used in a sentence, “ the texture of Jeggings is a lie".
Form: Forms are just three dimensional shapes. It’s like if a square ate a taco, and gained a pound. Now it’s a cube and it loves its body. Cubes are notoriously comfortable with themselves.
Value: How light or dark something is. Like most art, it works opposite to society; the darker something is, the more value it has.
I hope you learned a lot in this very informative art tip. Stay hardy people.
I got a new sketchbook today, and as a celebration, I had my friends that also draw pitch in to make this face, the first drawing in the new book.
Art Tip #2
Don’t just thing about your subject. Think around it. Try making word lists first. How does it make you feel? If you had to use only colors to describe it, which would you use? Does this remind you of anything else? Where do you see this in your everyday life? How would it feel if you touched it?
This is called conceptual thinking and can lead to some really cool ideas! Give it a shot in your next doodle and send it to me along with how the new thinking helped and I’ll post it up. Stay fantastic people!
Here is my black history heart. Hope you enjoy it! Be sure to send me yours!

Art Tip #1
There are so many circles and circle-like shapes (circloids) that are used to draw. The circle, the oval, and so many that dont have names.
My favorite, and the one i use the most is called the weird squished oblong egg.
Here are some ways to use it.
In order to master this shape, try doodling it on pages absently while you are doing other things. See how many different things it can kind of look like. Do this and you are on your way to drawing like someone that can draw.
Hey guys, have a doodle I made a while back.

Communication Tip #1
When telling someone that you don’t want to do something, make it clear whether its a non-want or an anti-want. Here is the difference:
want- positive feeling toward the option. You would rather this thing happen than any other option
non- neutral feeling toward the option. Perhaps you hadn’t thought about it. But you would not be affected whether or not the option is selected.
anti- you feel negatively about the option. You would rather select something else.
Specifying this can help avoid those moments where people think you are against something when you really just haven’t thought about it or don’t care either way.
